Bubba Wallace came into Sundays’ EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix NASCAR Cup Series race at the Circuits of The Americas with the hopes of having one of bets road course race of his career. His hope was fuelled by the P2 finish he earned in qualifying, as he started the race at the front row alongside 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick.

But his race didn’t go as planned as the car he got for Sunday didn’t favor his racing style. This made Bubba Wallace lash out on his team via the team radio after he won Stange one with the help of a strategy move. He claimed that his tiers lacked any grip and was making him slower than the rest of the garage.

Alright I’ve got nothing for rear tires. No lateral, no forward, no backward, no nothing… Yeah, like, common sense to me is I’m slower than the field, so how the f*** am I using my tires more? And falling backwards?

Bubba Wallace said on team radio.

He further complained that his car lacked any rhythm and asked him team to make the required changed on the next pit-stop. Though the team made some tweaks, it wasn’t enough to help him secure a solid run as his day ended in a P20 finish.

I’m trying to save and I just get so out of rhythm. So, might just need a lot of help. This thing is just dancing all around through the essess. You get off sequence one time and that’s it.

Bubba Wallace added.

Bubba Wallace’s teammate Tyler Reddick had a solid day

While Bubba Wallace struggled to have a solid race, his teammate and road course master Tyler Reddick was strong. He was able to secure just a P3 finish despite starting on the pole owing to the incident he got caught up in. But he and the No:45 team deserve some credit for the comeback.

I think if I could’ve survived that we probably would’ve had a much better shot out there sooner than we did. All in all, a good recovery for our team and any time we come to a place like this we want to win but a solid day.

Tyler Reddick said.

The 23XI Racing team signs of having a string 2025 season with their performance in the last three season. It would be interesting to see if they can use the momentum to their advantage in the coming week at Phoenix Raceway.
