NBA fans flay Draymond Green taking credit for Karl-Anthony Towns’ improved play
Draymond Green continues to clickbait Knicks fans with his takes on Karl-Anthony Towns on his latest podcast episode.

Draymond Green got into an ugly war of words with Karl-Anthony Towns in March, resulting in him apologizing. The Warriors’ DPOY candidate, however, does not seem to regret his actions. His latest words on KAT on his podcast with Baron Davis seem to indicate that he is proud of his conduct. The 35-year-old recently recorded yet another episode of his show and spoke about Towns’ improved play.
Draymond Green has consistently been one of the NBA’s peskiest defenders, as well as one of its most abrasive personalities. Although there have been quite a few players in this mould before him, Green is uniquely positioned where he can take the help of ESPN and conventional media to set the narratives for him, and he can also do the same narrative revision by using his own podcast platform on The Volume.
Green earned a lot of traction for his platform during the 2022 NBA playoffs. This was when he podcasted regularly during the Warriors’ championship run. He has continued to do this in each of the three playoffs since then. Green analyzed Karl-Anthony Towns’ emphatic game 1 display against Detroit on his latest episode. While doing so, the aspiring media personality predictably gave his performance his own spin.
Karl-Anthony Towns was huge. I thought his defense was great. His attitude was great. And I’m taking credit for that. Karl-Anthony Towns has been a different person since (that incident).

The way Green has been moving in relation to his comments on Towns since March is completely unsportsmanlike. Towns missed the Knicks’ road game against Golden State because he wanted to be with his girlfriend after the death of one of her close friends. Yet, Green attempted to portray Towns’ actions as those of someone trying to ‘avoid smoke’ from the Warriors.
Green continued to avoid accountability for his insensitive comments even after the truth came to light in a few weeks. Beyond that, he attempted to instigate KAT during the return fixture at Madison Square Garden as well.
NBA fans roast Draymond Green for yet another pathetic Karl-Anthony Towns comment
The Warriors center’s comments incited a tidal wave of support for KAT on social media. In addition, his haughty demeanor has also made people look at him in a really negative light. While whatever he said a month back could still be seen as an understandable deed, his attempt to reignite the controversy with his freshest statement indicates that Green is just making out-of-pocket comments to draw viewers to his show.
Given this background, NBA fans have been completely ruthless in how they’re viewing Green. The latest video clip has earned universal condemnation for him, even from Warriors fans. A few fans have pointed out that Green could be doing these antics just to drive engagement for his podcast.
So he makes up a rumor about why KAT didn’t play a game when he was mourning a death, gives a half assed explanation for why he lied instead of apologizing, and now he’s taking credit for a good game?

Green has also been labeled as a narcissistic guy in these discussions.
More spin than a White House press secretary

After Towns had a subdued outing in Game 2, fans are also questioning whether Green would take credit for his slump the same way.
Who deserves credit for his Game 2 performance then?! pic.twitter.com/1WzEKQGV6B

What about Game 2 ?

Is he also responsible for the goose egg KAT layed in the 2nd half?

Green has long been unabashed in stating his desire to pursue a media career following his basketball retirement. The DPOY candidate is not, however, doing any favors for his public image with his actions on and off the court. He would do well to take note of the public sentiment around his actions and change his mannerisms. Many fans have outright stated that they won’t be following his media career if he gets an ESPN or another sports media gig.
