When it comes to using social media to one's advantage, no one does it better than Drew McIntyre. The Scot has aimed a dig at Sheamus.

Having recently bagged the WWE Slammy for its Social Star of the Year once again, Drew McIntyre continues to prove why he’s in a league of his own. On Saturday afternoon, the 39-year-old reacted to a throwback picture from 2006 where he could be seen alongside Sheamus. The following screengrab appears to have been taken at a time when these WWE stars were enjoying their meals.
Nonetheless, in the picture, Sheamus, who must’ve been 27 or 28, has gotten a bizarre compliment from McIntyre. As per the Scot, “Sheamo looks great here for 40!” Was that something that might prompt the Irishman to clap back at his so-called Scottish lad? Time will tell if that’s the case. McIntyre is currently riding on a high from WrestleMania 41.

Last Sunday, the former two-time WWE Champion finally avenged his embarrassing trail of losses against Damian Priest. These men waged war in a Sin City Street Fight in what was the only stipulated match on the entire WrestleMania card this year. After brutalizing each other for nearly 14 minutes, Drew hit a well-placed Claymore kick on Priest’s neck, which was precariously entangled in a steel chair.
The weeks leading up to WWE’s biggest show of the year were rather an uphill climb for McIntyre. He had to overcome a minor eye injury that he unfortunately picked up after being slammed on the windshield of a car by his now-defeated WrestleMania foe. The Scottish Psychopath was even forced to wear an eye patch for a while so as to prevent further damage.
WWE to insert Drew McIntyre into the world title picture soon?
Ideally, after the career-defining year he had in 2024, Drew McIntyre was pegged to take his rightful place in one of the main events at WrestleMania 41. However, it wasn’t to be. The general consensus has sided with The Chosen One and is calling for a lengthy world title reign for the Scot.

As per WrestleVotes, Drew, soon-to-be 40, is set to enter the main event scene shortly. In fact, when McIntyre was moved to SmackDown in January as part of the transfer window, WWE had plans to have him feud with Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship down the line.
Per WrestleVotes, Drew McIntyre is expected to move into the MAIN EVENT scene and enter the World Title picture very soon following WrestleMania 41.

That wouldn’t happen for a while, at least until either Rhodes or McIntyre dethrone the man who’s on a mission to ruin wrestling—John Cena. Although the latter has Randy Orton to deal with at Backlash next month, The Franchise Player could very well cross paths with Drew, who’s not been able to get his hands on the Peacemaker actor despite having vowed so.
Could Drew McIntyre be the next United States Champion?
On this week’s SmackDown, Drew McIntyre interrupted the brand-new US Champion Jacob Fatu‘s confrontation with LA Knight, who was hellbent on regaining gold. Once Drew made his way out, he claimed that he was planning to challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE title, but Randy Orton jumped the gun.

Therefore, bringing about an overhaul in his course of action, McIntyre asserted he would fight someone who claims he’s America’s Most Wanted—Jacob Fatu. In the meantime, Knight started talking trash with Drew, which led to a US title No. 1 contenders match between the two. It ended in a DQ when Damian Priest attacked the Scot out of nowhere.

The former Judgment Day member annihilated his nemesis at ringside before running into a disagreement with The Megastar, who was upset at Priest for crashing the party. They were ultimately wiped out by Fatu. It looks like things are headed toward a Fatal 4-Way at Backlash, which, if happens, would be The Samoan Werewolf’s first US title defense.
