The first season of Netflix’s NASCAR docu-series, Full Speed, was a success with it attracting a good number of new fans to the sport while also giving the current passionate fan base a new perspective into the life of the favorite driver. The second season of the series, that covers the 2024 season is set to release on May 7, with reigning champion Joey Logano as one of the stars.
The Penske Racing veteran has already watched the series with his family in the off-season, using his special privilege. In the Texas Cup race media session, he was asked about his opinion on the second season, and Joey Logano asserted that he is impressed with the final output. Watching him becoming the champion makes it special for him.
I watched it over the off weekend. We watched it down at the beach at night with the kids, and it was fun. It was actually really good. It’s way better than last year, and I say that from a very selfish standpoint because I got to actually watch us win…
Joey Logano said via Speedwaydigest.
The 2023 season, which featured in the first season of the docu-series, marked an embarrassing title defense by the No:22 Ford driver. He got into the playoff owing to a lucky win only to get eliminated on the R-16, after failing to produce any solid run while his teammate secured the title. Logano was happy owing the factor as well as it featuring good story telling of the playoffs.
The year before I watched us get knocked out in the first round, so it’s much better. They’re much better episodes (laughing). They did a good job of telling the story of the playoffs.
Joey Logano added.
Joey Logano explains the purpose of each episode on the 2025 season
In the same conversation, he explained the purposes of some of the episodes. The first episode is more of education, giving the new race fans a run down on how everything woks out and then each of the remaining episodes develops into a deep dive into the sport, as well the playoffs.

I thought what they did well is the first episode is very educational to the non-race fan, which is part of the goal of the doc to try to educate or create new NASCAR fans, and then it gets a little bit more into the nitty gritty of what the playoffs are and NASCAR is, so I think that’s good. It kind of starts a little elementary and then it gets into the deeper levels, so they did a good job of that.
Joey Logano said.
The veteran seems to be impressed with how the series start at the elementary level and then go on a deep dive of the sport. If the NASCAR fan community as well as the casual race fans gets the same level of excitement from watching it, inspiring them to follow the sports more.
