The Talladega Cup race witnessed the reigning cup champion Joey Logano going on a profanity laced radio rant at his teammate Austin Cindric invoking strong criticism from the fans, as well as experts. This incident also rekindled the debates regarding fans outrage over the private rants on team radio and Joe Gibbs Racing youngster Ty Gibbs got some reasonable comments about it.

The 2022 Xfinity Series champion believes using the radio for the sake of entertainments isn’t the right way to go as the only purpose of it is communicate during the race. NASCAR is an entertainment business and not everyone in the community will share Ty Gibbs’ opinion. But he has a strong argument in his favor, as often only the neglective comments gets the headline and it projects the racers as bad people.

That radio is for your team and the only reason why anybody else has access to it is for entertainment. We are an entertainment business but also I think we get made out to look like bad people at times for what we say on the radio or what happens.

Ty Gibbs told Frontstretch.com.

He then explained why the fans often misunderstands and mis interprets the radio rants, which are just the product of adrenalin rush. Gibbs pointed out that the fans lack the real racing experience, so they judge the racers for even the normal rants. Honestly, it’s very hypocritical from the fans as they might say things much worse when they are on the highway.

You have people in the stands and people that watch that have never experienced anything like that in racing. But also all they do is just accuse and cancel you for stuff people say on the radios that are in the middle of competition.

Ty Gibbs asserted.

I’m not calling out anybody but I think it’s not fair, nobody should be judged by that. I think that there’s a certain chance you can be a little bit, but I’m talking about like the regular fan in you calling somebody out and not saying something about somebody else said.

Ty Gibbs said.

The No:54 Toyota driver is right to feel that it’s not fair that everyone can listen to the communication between the teams and drivers. He is also right about the selective outrage and creating drama over even the small beefs. But at the same time, fans should have access to the communication as it helps them to be more involved with the sports and sometimes enjoy the hilarious moments.
