Jannik Sinner has responded to recent dating rumors at his first press conference during the Rome Open. The 22-year-old tennis star addressed talk linking him to Russian model Lara Lieto. He made it clear that he wants the focus to stay on his tennis.

Photos online had sparked a lot of interest in his personal life. Social media and news outlets picked up the story quickly. But Sinner, who rarely speaks about his private life, chose to give a calm and direct reply.

Off the court I was very surprised to see some pictures… nothing, nothing, nothing serious. I’m not in a relationship.

Jannik Sinner said in his pre-tournament press conference at the Italian Open

In 2024, Sinner was in a relationship with Anna Kalinskaya. They reportedly broke up by the end of the year. Since then, they haven’t been seen together or followed each other on social media.

Sinner is known for his strong focus on the game. He said he wants to keep his mind on the matches ahead. Even after his doping ban, fans gave him a warm welcome in Rome, showing their support as he returns to the court.

The status of Jannik Sinner at the Rome Masters

World No.1 Jannik Sinner is set to return at the 2025 Italian Open. He will play in Rome after serving a three-month doping ban. The tournament has 96 players, and all 32 seeds get a bye into the second round. Sinner will stay World No.1 no matter how he performs.

Alexander Zverev is the defending champion. He won the 2024 final against Nicolas Jarry in straight sets. This year, Zverev is defending 1,000 points. As a result, he has dropped from second to third in the live rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz missed the Madrid Masters due to injury. Still, he has moved up to second in the live rankings, now ahead of Zverev by 755 points. Alcaraz won’t lose any points in Rome, as he skipped last year’s event because of an arm injury.

Novak Djokovic will not play in the 2025 Italian Open. But he is only losing 50 points since he exited in the third round last year. Holger Rune, currently ranked tenth, also lost in the third round in 2024 and will drop the same amount.

Jannik Sinner’s playing date is now known

The wait is finally over. Jannik Sinner is ready to return to the tennis tour after a three-month break due to a doping suspension. He will make his comeback at the 2025 Italian Open, and there’s no better place than Rome to start again.

Fans will get to see Sinner play in the second round of the Masters 1000 event. His first match will be on Saturday, May 10. He will face either Mariano Navone or young Italian player Federico Cinà.

This return is special for Sinner, as he missed last year’s tournament because of a hip injury. He is not defending any points, which helps him stay safely at the top of the ATP rankings.

With the crowd behind him and nothing to lose in points, all eyes will be on Sinner this Saturday. It’s a key step as he builds toward his main goal, i.e., Roland Garros.
