On this week’s Raw, Dominik Mysterio spotted Finn Balor in a corner of their Judgment Day clubhouse and went to have a word with him. The 28-year-old questioned Balor’s antics during Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship defense against Penta at Backlash. ‘Dirty Dom’ asked ‘The Prince’ why he hesitated to smack Penta with the steel chair while he had the opportunity to do so.

Rey Mysterio‘s son even stressed that he would’ve lost his title belt if it wasn’t for El Grande Americano’s interference. ‘The Prince’ stopped Mysterio and claimed that he was starting to act paranoid, just like Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley did when they became champions while being in ‘The Judgment Day.’ Balor, though, did admit that things didn’t go smoothly at Backlash, but eventually the result went in Mysterio’s favor.

The Irishman then vowed to take care of AJ Styles later on in the night. However, despite giving his all, Balor went down to Styles in their first singles match since Survivor Series: WarGames in 2022. Balor’s Judgment Day cohorts, JD McDonagh and Carlito, tried doing the dirty work for the former Universal Champion, but to no avail.

Penta appeared at ringside during the closing moments to take care of McDonagh and Carlito. Back in the ring, Styles delivered a Phenomenal Forearm to Balor, who was already out of sorts by the outside chaos. And just like that, ‘The Irish Captor’ succumbed to yet another pinfall loss. While the fans enjoyed the in-ring action between the two former Bullet Club members, seeing Balor lose again did pique a portion of the WWE Universe.

Finn Balor to join forces with Dominik Mysterio on next week’s Raw

After what transpired on Raw, WWE has announced a tag team match for next week. It’ll see AJ Styles team up with Penta to take on Finn Balor and Dominik Mysterio. WWE is positioning Styles as the next challenger to Mysterio’s IC title. It remains to be seen if they’ll duke it out for the prize on May 24 at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Mysterio’s ongoing title reign is hanging by a thin thread. He could’ve lost it on Raw after WrestleMania 41 had JD McDonagh not returned to help him retain. The Judgment Day’s shenanigans, coupled with El Grande Americano’s interference, saved the day once again for Liv Morgan‘s on-screen boyfriend at Backlash. And speaking of Morgan, she was mentioned by her Daddy Dom in the same backstage segment mentioned earlier.

Mysterio said that Morgan misses him, but the 28-year-old was confused about his ‘Güerita’ greeting him with a good morning to begin with. Dirty Dom didn’t seem to have an understanding of different time zones, as Morgan said so because she’s currently filming a movie in Japan. Mysterio’s Judgment Day mates then bestowed a lesson on time zones on the San Diego native.

Was Finn Balor ever reluctant to join The Judgment Day?

Last year at SummerSlam, ‘The Judgment Day’ imploded. First, it was Dominik Mysterio who turned on Rhea Ripley to pledge her allegiance to Liv Morgan. And then, Finn Balor betrayed Damian Priest in his world title match against Gunther later on that night.

Prior to the event, Balor was interviewed by Inside The Ropes. During the conversation, the 43-year-old did admit that he had reservations about initially joining The Judgment Day in 2022. At that point, Edge aka Adam Copeland had been kicked out of the group. Balor was reluctant to come on board because he already had been in an incredibly successful faction before.

‘The Prince’ was a part of the iconic Bullet Club stable during his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He had apprehensions about fans comparing it to what he was about to pull off in WWE. The former Universal Champion, in hindsight, does believes that the Judgment Day stint has been the most enjoyable phase of his wrestling career.
