McLaren has achieved a dominant start to the 2025 season as the rivals continue to be dumbfounded by the team’s sudden boost in pace. Red Bull and others have already accused Woking of reportedly injecting water into their tires to manipulate the tire temperatures. Moreover, McLaren’s legality of the mini-DRS rear wing continues to remain under scrutiny. Now, Max Verstappen has backed down on Milton Keynes’ accusations against the British constructor.

McLaren visited the stewards on multiple occasions due to the flexing in the rear wing, effectively giving a mini-DRS effect to the cars. While teams consistently kept an eye on this loophole, the officials cleared the challenger and deemed it completely legal. Still, the accusations and rumors did not stop, as Red Bull also accused them of injecting water. However, Max Verstappen believes that Woking is simply smarter than their rivals.

Max Verstappen is a person who exploits the loopholes in the rules and pushes them to their extreme limits. Hence, game respects game, as Verstappen remained praiseful of Woking’s smart rear-wing structure this year. The Dutchman issued his faith in the stewards and officials to remain unbiased and clearly restrict any illegal activities from McLaren, if any.

Verstappen pointed out that he was satisfied after finding out that McLaren was examined and found to be completely legal. The 27-year-old backs down on Red Bull’s accusations and clarifies that he never said that Woking’s car was illegal. The reigning world champion also applauded the team’s very smart solution and for finding a legal way to gain a mini-DRS effect.

If I am satisfied that McLaren has been examined and found legal? I never said it wasn’t, they clearly found a very smart solution and you have to compliment them.
