Max Verstappen is one of the most successful F1 drivers in today’s day and age having won the drivers championship twice in a row in 2021 and 2022. Max is a Belgian-Dutch racing driver but competes under the Dutch Flag in F1 with Red Bull Racing. Born on 30th September 1997 to parents Jos Verstappen and Sophie Kumpen, both racing drivers, it was clear that the Dutchman was destined for great success.

When did Max Verstappen join Formula 1?

Max Verstappen joined F1 back in 2015 with Scuderia Torro Rosso. The Dutch driver got the call up to F1 directly from F3. Being the youngest driver to ever race in Formula 1, he went on to break several records including the youngest driver to score points and more prominently the youngest driver to win an F1 race. However, this was just the start for Verstappen.

How many World Championships has Max Verstappen won?

As of 2023, Max Verstappen is a two-time F1 world champion. The Dutchman won his maiden championship back in 2021 after a tremendously tough battle with F1 legend Lewis Hamilton. After starting the last race level on points, Max won the race and went on to become the world champion. For the 2022 season, it was comparatively easier for Max as he absolutely dominated that season winning 15 out of 22 races. He won the world championship in Suzuka which was Honda’s home turf.
