NASCAR veteran Kyle Busch is preparing his son Brexton to follow his footsteps in the world of stock car racing. The younger Busch is already making a name for himself with some good performances in the junior categories of racing. However, the 40-year-old eyes Kyle Larson‘s junior career as the right path for his son’s motorsport career.

Kyle Larson has established himself as one of the best drivers in NASCAR. The HMS star is truly performing at the peak of his career right now. Kyle Busch has taken some inspiration from Larson, who started his early career in both dirt and pavement racing. This allowed the 32-year-old to master both track conditions, something which Busch wants Brexton Busch to be able to achieve in the near future.

I look at Kyle, ‘Tiny’ Kyle Larson. I would say he’s obviously one of the top talents right now in our space and in the dirt world space as well. He can get in anything anytime and go fast.

Though, Busch reckoned that there was no clear path to a driver’s future in the NASCAR ladder. Brexton Busch is about to turn 10 years old, which would allow him to race the Legend cars. This would set the ideal base for the aspiring youngster, who will be debuting in Legend car racing at Hickory. For Brexton, it is essential to be able to get the hang of such categories and learn from his on-track runs to one day make it to the big league.

I don’t think there’s a right path. He’s getting more into the Legend car right now. He turns 10, he can’t race a Legend car until he turns 10. That’s this week, so he’ll actually race his Legend car debut this week at Hickory. There’s a lot more racetracks around our area for Legends cars, pavement racing Legend cars than there are the Dirt Micro.

Kyle Busch wants his son to avoid bad habits in racing

While Kyle Larson’s junior career trajectory allowed him to master dirt and pavement racing, there is another reason why Kyle Busch wants his son to compete on both surfaces. The 40-year-old asserted that he wants Brexton to not race in one series for too long.

As such a stint might develop bad habits in his driving which would become very difficult to get rid of. On the other hand, switching categories would keep the boy open to learning new skills.

I’d like to keep him on both, just learning that sense of all the different vehicles that you can drive. Don’t stay in anything too long that you learn those bad habits that keep you good at that, that doesn’t allow you to keep your mind open and fresh to new things.

Kyle Busch added.

Brexton Busch is supported by his father via Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM). The NASCAR veteran will be planning to take his kid from Legend car racing to Micros and even the Bandoleros, all in a bid to gain him as much experience as possible at an early age. Once Brexton turns 12, he will make his entry into Pavement Late Model racing as well.

Kyle Busch knows every aspect of stock car racing. The RCR veteran knows what will be good for his son’s career and he will leave no stone unturned to provide Brexton the best platform possible. It is heartwarming to see Busch ensure that his son gets everything he needs to succeed in the world of racing. Fans would certainly be keeping an eye on the prodigy’s career in the coming years.
