The internet is saturated with trolling pages, making modern media often appear deceptive or misleading to the casual digital observer. While many users can distinguish between fake sources and authentic outlets, UFC CEO Dana White struggles with that discernment. A recent incident regarding the UFC 316 main event star Merab Dvalishvili was solid proof of this unfortunate media confusion.

Recently, Dvalishvili shared a few pictures from training camp to fight Sean O’Malley, showing a cut under his eye. A trolling X page with 6K followers, known for fake UFC stories, made it appear that Dana White reacted on Instagram. However, that wasn’t the case, and once White found out, he gave a befitting reply to the viral post – “Total BULLSH*T.”

Last year, before the mega event UFC 306, the Georgian fighter cut himself in training, making Dana White flip out in concern. However, ‘The Machine’ stated such injuries were common and eventually dominated O’Malley to win the UFC bantamweight championship belt.

Since then, fans and the UFC have taken a liking to Dvalishvili because of unmatched cardio and showboating in UFC title fights. After the recent viral post, the bantamweight champion credited White for backing him up and showing strong support, “Thanks boss. If you don’t know now you know… lol.”

Dvalishvili is well known for training extremely hard, often getting injured, and doing dangerous stunts without any hesitation or fear. From doing pull-ups on the edge of a cliff to diving headfirst into a frozen lake, he embraces chaos completely. However, that never stops him from dominating elite opponents like Umar Nurmagomedov and many other UFC names with relative ease.

Top bantamweight believes Merab Dvalishvili can lose at UFC 316

Due to his incredible performances and undefeated run, Merab Dvalishvili is undoubtedly the favorite to win big at UFC 316. Sean O’Malley looked completely clueless the last time they fought, and many fans opposed booking this controversial title rematch again. However, despite facing all the criticism and doubts, ‘Suga’ remains confident about regaining his bantamweight belt and proving everyone wrong.

According to O’Malley, he suffered a groin injury that reduced his ability to defend takedowns effectively during their previous fight. Suga now believes he’s made significant changes and can perform at least seventy percent more efficiently in the upcoming title clash.

Top bantamweight Cory Sandhagen also discussed the fight, saying O’Malley can beat Dvalishvili by using his knockout power in a smart manner. This is because as the fight goes longer, the cardio of the bantamweight champion improves and becomes unstoppable as witnessed in the last several fights.

O’Malley’s ability to get up was really bad in their first fight with Merab….O’Malley’s going to get taken down a lot, and hopefully he learned how to stand up a lot better, because getting taken down is going to happen. Sean’s not really a point guy.. O’Malley wants to put your lights out. I think he really needs to control the pace of the fight, the scoring piece of the standup…He just has to stand there, defend the shots the best he can, and when Merab gets close to him, just hit him.

O’Malley is a sharpshooter who can turn anybody’s lights out at any point during the course of a UFC bout. However, to achieve that, he must first survive the relentless pressure and unmatched cardio of the reigning Georgian bantamweight champion. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if he can reclaim his title and avenge the memory of that humiliating loss.

Is Merab Dvalishvili the bantamweight GOAT after UFC 316?

Merab Dvalishvili has built a dominant resume with wins over legends, showcasing relentless cardio, pressure, and unmatched grappling skills consistently. ‘The Machine’ has dismantled former champions like Jose Aldo and Henry Cejudo, proving his elite status in one of UFC’s toughest divisions ever.
