Max Verstappen’s future with Red Bull has remained under scrutiny ever since the team’s performance struggles started. To make matters worse, Verstappen was involved in a controversial collision with George Russell at the Spanish GP. Ex-F1 driver Ralf Schumacher believed that the Dutchman had collided intentionally to activate his exit clause with the team. Since then, Team Principal Christian Horner has fired shots at the German for such baseless claims.

It was recently rumored that Max Verstappen couldn’t activate his Red Bull exit clause if he finished within the Top 4 of the drivers’ standings. As such, Ralf Schumacher claimed that the Dutchman is intentionally trying to lose points in order to fall below the performance target. Verstappen has remained a fierce competitor on track regardless of the dire conditions he faces. As such, Christian Horner lambasts Schumacher for even getting such an idea in his mind.

Christian Horner did not mince his words while berating Ralf Schumacher and his claims on Max Verstappen. The Red Bull team boss am Principal reckoned that this was the biggest nonsense that he had heard in a long time. Moreover, the 51-year-old further highlighted that this claim was extremely stupid as he did not think he’d ever live to see the day of such claims being made. Even Verstappen had clarified that he did not crash on purpose and apologized to the parties involved on social media.

This theory is the biggest nonsense possible. I haven’t heard anything so stupid for a long time.

Horner further backed Verstappen and how his mind worked as a driver in Formula 1, especially after winning over four drivers’ titles in the sport. The Briton asserted that the reigning world champion was a racer through and through and would never get such an idea. The 51-year-old further insisted that the Dutchman had always wanted to win races and championships, regardless of the consequences he faced.

Max is a racer through and through. He always wants to win and would never act like that.

Ralf Schumacher labels Max Verstappen’s behavior as ‘pitiful’

Ralf Schumacher is a well-known pundit in the F1 world whose words hold great value. Making such awkward claims isn’t helping either of the parties involved, as they often cause an unnecessary uproar amongst the fans. Even Nico Rosberg had made such weird claims on Max Verstappen‘s collision with George Russell, as he immediately got shut down by Christian Horner.

Schumacher still made some bold claims regarding Max Verstappen and his behavior at the Spanish GP. The 49-year-old labeled the Dutchman’s behavior towards George Russell and others as a ‘pity’ as it was unexpected. The Pundit further questioned what got into the four-time champion to lash out on the track in Barcelona. He guessed that it could have been frustration at the moment, which still wasn’t acceptable.

His behaviour is a pity, he doesn’t need that as a four-time World Champion. I don’t know what got into him. It is clear that frustration is on the way, but that should not be the case.

Max Verstappen has managed to cut off the outside noise very well and is continuing his impressive performances. The Dutchman might seem desperate at times, but that is what defines his personality as a driver. The 27-year-old has kept up with great results despite Red Bull’s inferior pace as compared to the McLarens upfront.
