Carlos Alcaraz is preparing for the Queen’s Club Championships to win his fourth title on grass. He will kick-start his campaign on June 17th against Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Alcaraz has achieved the most this season on the men’s tour, reaching five finals and winning four titles. The Spaniard progressed to every final he played on the clay swing, winning three titles, which included the French Open trophy he won by beating Jannik Sinner in an epic final.
After defending his French Open crown, Alcaraz went to Ibiza to celebrate his success. In his Netflix documentary Carlos Alcaraz: My Way, Alcaraz said that after his defeat to Novak Djokovic in the 2023 French Open semifinal, he flew to the Mediterranean island and partied for three days. But now, the 22-year-old thinks he is getting older and that’s why he went out for only one night.
It doesn’t matter where you go, but being able to rest physically and mentally is what counts. I feel that now I can come back with more energy. This year I’ve taken it easier. It’s been three days of rest, more than enough, but I only went out one night. The other two, I was in bed by midnight. I’m getting older, my body doesn’t keep up anymore.
Carlos Alcaraz told reporters at the Queen’s Club
After much-needed rest, Alcaraz returned to court to win his first grass-court title at the Queen’s Club Championships. He then doubled his grass-court titles tally by beating 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic in the Wimbledon final. Last year, however, the five-time Grand Slam champion was defeated in the second round at Queen’s by Jack Draper.
Jannik Sinner talks about his relationship with Carlos Alcaraz after the French Open final
Jannik Sinner wants to maintain a good camaraderie with Carlos Alcaraz despite their intense rivalry. Sinner and Alcaraz have won the last six Grand Slam titles and their meeting at the French Open was their first in a Major final.

Sinner has now lost five consecutive matches against Alcaraz and lost his first Grand Slam final. Alcaraz, on the other hand, improved his win-loss record in Major finals to 5-0 and became the third youngest man to reach the five Grand Slam titles tally.
Sinner is not playing in the Queen’s Club Championships as he is participating at the Halle Open. Ahead of his first-round match against home favorite Yannick Hanfmann, the 23-year-old talked about his rivalry with the Murcia native.
At the end of the day, we are rivals, but we still have a great relationship. We saw this in the past, that you can be rivals but still friends, and this is what we try to do. The last six majors was me and Carlos, but things can change very quickly.
Jannik Sinner told Tennis TV
Alexander Zverev, the three-time Grand Slam finalist, enters the Major events as one of the contenders. The German is projected to lock horns with Sinner in the Halle Open final.
Then there is 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, who had knocked out Sinner in last year’s Wimbledon quarterfinals. Sinner has never progressed beyond the semifinals in the grass-court Major (reached the last four in 2023).
The Halle Open is Sinner’s fourth tournament of the season. After defending his Australian Open title, Sinner served his three-month doping ban before making his comeback at the Italian Open only to reach the final and lose in straight sets to Alcaraz.
Sinner is chasing his second title on grass in Halle. Last year, the three-time Grand Slam champion won this tournament by beating Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz.
