After last wrestling in this year's Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown before WrestleMania, Karrion Kross is set for his next match.

The drought of Karrion Kross‘ in-ring presence in WWE is about to be over. He’s been announced for a singles match against Sami Zayn at Night of Champions. It’s going to be ‘The Doomsday’s first singles match on a WWE premium live event since November 2022. Back then, he took on Drew McIntyre at Crown Jewel.
Almost three years since that, Kross is back on the big stage yet again. It’s purely a testament to how badly the fans had been wanting him in that position. Being aware of it, the 39-year-old penned a heartfelt note of gratitude for the WWE Universe on X. The former NXT Champion noted that those advocating for him online and within the arenas made it happen.
Kross humbly requested everyone to always voice their concerns without causing a ruckus, and the WWE management will take note of it. Over the past few weeks, the former Killer Kross’ screentime followed a bizarre pattern where he would appear in backstage segments with Zayn for a minute or two. Yet every time Kross’ face popped up on camera, the fans would go bonkers.
All of you online & especially live at the shows made this happen.

Stay loud for what you like and what you want to see. Keep it •positive• and they will always listen.
In closing:
I told you, I’m very big on loyalty.
When you show up for me,
I’ll show out for you.

That groundswell in his popularity has finally paid off. On this week’s Raw, just when Zayn was being interviewed over his tough loss to Randy Orton in the semifinals of the King of the Ring tournament, Kross barged in. ‘The Harbinger of Doom’ mocked the ‘Canuck’s aspirations of becoming a world champion in WWE.
Zayn eventually snapped and punched Kross right across his jaw and stated that they’d settle their beef inside the ring on June 28 at Night of Champions. After the former Intercontinental Champ left, Kross and his wife, Scarlett, were laughing as their plan of getting under Zayn’s skin had paid dividends.
Karrion Kross was the first superstar to return after Triple H took over as creative lead
Karrion Kross was the first major rehire of the Triple H era in WWE. Back in 2022, ‘The Game’ superseded his father-in-law, Vince McMahon, as the Chief Content Officer. He wasted no time in reassembling the roster, and bringing Kross back with his better half was just the first step in that direction.

The former Final Testament leader emerged on an episode of SmackDown in August, where he blindsided Drew McIntyre and ultimately had a stare-down with Roman Reigns and The Usos. It appeared like WWE had Kross lined up as Reigns’ challenger. However, a singles match between them never actually came to fruition.
‘The Doomsday’ was made to go after McIntyre, and they had a lengthy rivalry. However, at the time, Kross’ gimmick wasn’t resonating with the live audience, which would often result in dull matches, and his hype fizzled out. The recent resurgence in Kross’ standing among the fans has opened up a silver lining for the New Yorker to finally make it count. Who knows if he ends up in title contention real soon?
Karrion Kross stood up for the WWE locker room against Logan Paul
Not only is Karrion Kross ravenous for personal growth in WWE, but he’s also a brilliant coworker who cares about his peers. A few weeks ago, ‘The Harbinger of Doom’ gave a befitting reply to Logan Paul‘s explanation of why he’s main eventing major WWE events over other full-time members of the roster.

‘The Maverick’ gloated about his mainstream reach and how he’s brilliant at what he does inside the squared circle, let alone his ventures outside of WWE. Kross argued that wrestlers weren’t taught in their schools that for them to have a fair shot of proving themselves inside the ring, they’d have to build billion-dollar businesses.
‘The Doomsday’ also took a dig at Vince McMahon‘s regime, as the wrestlers had to strictly adhere to what was asked of them. They weren’t allowed to entertain outside offers like Paul was able to do and received special treatment from the company as opposed to his colleagues.
