The long-standing beef between Joe Rogan and Liver King, initially verbal, has now dangerously escalated beyond simple online disagreements and accusations. Liver King, an infamous fitness influencer, gained massive fame for promoting a raw meat-eating lifestyle combined with ancestral living principles. Over time, many fans and experts exposed his deception, with Joe Rogan being one of the first to publicly criticize him.

In 2022, Rogan claimed on his podcast that Liver King was not natural and accused him of deceiving fans. Rogan argued that Liver King was lying to boost his fitness brand and sell his ancestral lifestyle programs through manipulative marketing strategies. Soon after, leaked private emails revealed Liver King was spending $11,000 monthly on steroids and human growth hormone cycles.

Eventually, Liver King, whose real name is Brian Johnson, admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs and issued a public apology. However, despite that, Rogan didn’t trust Johnson and refused to bring him as a guest on his viral JRE podcast. The situation took a dangerous turn when, on June 23, 2025, Liver King posted a series of increasingly aggressive videos on Instagram.

Law enforcement quickly treated these threats with urgency, recognizing the potential danger posed by Liver King’s aggressive online behavior. The Austin Police Department confirmed Johnson was actively traveling to Austin, the city where Rogan currently resides and works. On June 24, 2025, officers arrested Johnson at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin at approximately 6:00 p.m. local time.

Rogan told police he had never personally met Johnson but found his threatening videos genuinely concerning and dangerous. Rogan also shared that several people had warned him about Johnson’s possible substance abuse issues and described him as unstable. Since Johnson’s arrest, Rogan has not made any public comments regarding the situation or the ongoing legal proceedings.

Liver King was peacefully taken into custody and charged with a Class B misdemeanor for making terroristic threats causing reasonable fear of bodily harm. Following his arrest, Johnson was released on a $20,000 bond but had to comply with several strict court-ordered conditions. He is now legally prohibited from contacting Joe Rogan or any member of Rogan’s family under any circumstances, directly or indirectly.

Additionally, within one week, Johnson is required to undergo a comprehensive mental health evaluation to assess his current psychological condition. Authorities imposed a strict no-firearm condition moving forward, driven by concerns about Johnson’s recent erratic and potentially dangerous behavior.

As expected, many fans were not that surprised by such erratic behaviour from Liver King, given his history with PEDs. Others mentioned how Rogan would have destroyed him in a street fight, due to Rogan’s background in Jiu-jitsu and kickboxing.
