Max Verstappen is always at the center of attention in Formula 1. However, the Dutchman finds himself in a difficult spot right now, as he stands on the edge of facing a race ban. A single mistake or incident by the Red Bull star on-track could see him sit out of a race weekend. Now, the reigning world champion had slammed the media for continuously asking questions over this possibility.
The 27-year-old received three penalty points to his super license at the Spanish GP. This brought Max Verstappen‘s total to eleven, just one short of a race ban. This was one of the biggest talking points at the Canadian GP. Although, Verstappen managed to keep it clean and avoid such a scenario. Now, the Dutch driver must ensure that he stays out of trouble at the Austrian GP this weekend as well. After this race, a couple of points will expire, removing the threat of a direct race ban on the Red Bull star.
Verstappen was furious over any questions about the race ban scenario in Montreal. It seems that the Dutch driver has carried forward this opinion to the Red Bull Ring. When asked about the penalty points in the press conference, Max Verstappen had an outburst, wondering whether the question was meant to be a joke or a trap. The reigning world champion made it clear that he had nothing to add to these questions, having answered them for the past few weeks.
Are you joking? is this a trap? I’ve been getting this question for weeks now and I have nothing to add to previous answers.

Max Verstappen frustrated over Red Bull future questions
The penalty points don’t seem to be the only thing on the media’s list of questions for Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion’s future at Red Bull remains uncertain despite a contract that extends till the end of 2028. Verstappen has not shown any direct interest in leaving Milton Keynes. Though, rumors continue to surface over rival teams showing interest in the 27-year-old.

Max Verstappen was asked whether he would be racing for Red Bull in 2026. The Dutch driver expressed his frustration, claiming that he has faced this question multiple times in the past, and even during the Austrian GP last year. The 27-year-old made it clear that he had nothing new to add to his previous comments, even though he didn’t remember what he said last year. Moreover, the reigning world champion asserted that he was not thinking about his future at the team. Presently, Verstappen was simply focused on getting the maximum results this season.
Yeah. I don’t think we need to talk about that. I don’t know, do you want me to repeat what I said last year? I don’t know. It’s the same answer. I don’t even remember what I said last year, really. But again, it’s not really on my mind. Just driving well, trying to push the performance, and then we focus on next year.
Max Verstappen explained
The Dutch driver is not someone who is reluctant to speak his mind. Max Verstappen always makes his feelings known to the media, even when he gets angry. This uncensored personality is appreciated by fans, who don’t often get to see drivers be so transparent. Though, it seems that Verstappen is getting quite frustrated over several things outside the grid. Fans would hope that the 27-year-old is able to blur out the noise once he gets inside the cockpit.
