2012 NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski was the most heartbroken driver after the Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart race. The veteran found himself close to securing his maiden win of the season, before on the final lap Chase Elliott overtook him and secured his place in the 2025 Cup playoffs.
Brad Keselowski, who has been struggling a lot since the start of the year, finally got a car that’s truly competitive and even the luck was on his side till the last minute. On the final laps, Chase Elliott got a huge push from teammate Alex Bowman that helped him to overtake the No:6 Ford. The battle for P2 between the RFK Ford and Bowman’s Hendrick Motorsports Chevy helped the No:9 team to cruise to a victory.
Talking about the loss after the race, the RFK owner driver admitted that he couldn’t have done anything when Elliott took the lead with the help of his teammate. If his own teammates, Ryan Preece or Chris Buescher was beside him at that moment, he could have ruined the double to attempt and give a proper fight.
He (Elliott) just had the 48 (Alex Bowman) behind him giving him a huge push and (there was) nothing I could do to cover that. We had our cars linked up at RFK. We could do the same thing and we lost that, and then it was just kind of a two-on-one. I fought as hard as I could.
Brad Keselowski said after the race.
.@keselowski credits Elliott and Bowman working together so well and passing him on the last lap, but he says @RFKracing did the same thing when all 3 cars were hooked up earlier.

During the same conversation the veteran talked about how tough it was to race as the leader and how almost every time he was on lead on Saturday, things went south. He wished to have a caution that could have helped him at the moment, but unlike in the previous seasons the superspeedway races are getting more cleaner towards the final laps, though the mid-race chaos still prevails.
The cars get too big of runs and it ain’t over until it’s over. Every time I got the lead, I couldn’t seem to get everything to go our way. If we could have got a yellow or anything there, it certainly would have been helpful, but that didn’t happen.
Brad Keselowski asserted.
Brad Keselowski is desperate for a win in 2025
Further talking about his performance, he admitted that the double team attack on his and the lose has all increased his desperation for a race win, as he wasn’t even thinking about playoffs. But at the end of the day the veteran shouldn’t be too hard on himself as not having even a Ford at the end of the race to support him put him a tough spot already.

I don’t think about that (the playoffs), I just want to win. The 48 (Bowman) and 9 (Elliott) were able to double up on me and there wasn’t anything I could do… Once the two Hendrick cars linked up, it was going to be hard to make anything happen.
Brad Keselowski asserted.
It’s been a year since Brad Keselowski has won a race, Darlington 2024 which is still his only win for RFK Racing, and he is desperately looking to secure a second race win. He is currently in the midst the best streak to do that, as he has finished inside the top-10 in four of the last six races, unlike the previous 12 races that saw him score nine finishes outside the top-25.
So, Keselowski needs get over the poor result soon and take it as inspiration to work extra hard for the upcoming Chicago Street race. The recent results show the team has found the sweet spot with the cars balance, and their future in the season will depend on how they build on the current momentum.
