The NASCAR community has some bog story lines to discuss at this point, alongside racing after the sport introduced $1 million rewarding in-season bracket challenge. While many fans love the five-race tournament, some hates it. Now Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. has addressed this small group and has urged them to ignore it if they don’t care about it.

In the latest episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr. pointed out that he doesn’t understand why some people think the bracket is stupid. He then went onto explain the origin of the challenge that can be traced back to Denny Hamlin, Joe Gibbs Racing driver and the host of the Actions Detrimental podcast, who starter the bracket challenge on the Dirty Mo Media website.

There’s people out there that think the bracket is stupid. … I don’t understand why you would go, ‘Ah, this is dumb. We ain’t college basketball.’ We created this bracket. Denny Hamlin created this idea and said, ‘This would be fun,’ and we did it. We put it on a website.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download podcast.

He highlighted how the original rendition of the challenge had almost 20,000 people sign up and do it, as his firm helped a lot of people to enjoy the races in a different way. So, NASCAR took the idea, made almost a carbon copy of it and made the in-season tournament. Junior jokes the Hamlin can go to the court for royalties for the idea.

All the people who follow Dirty Mo Media, we had like 20,000 people sign up and do it. It’s fun as hell. NASCAR took the idea, carbon copy enough that I think Denny oughta be like, ‘Hey, man.’ They’re already in court. Tack that one in the end.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. asserted.

He the addressed the small group of NASCAR fans that hates the idea and told them to ignore it, just enjoy the racing as if they want to talk shit about it. The criticism is predominantly from the small group of toxic fans that criticize any small changes done to the sport, regardless of how fun and entertaining these changes are.

The bracket’s cool. If you’re not into it, just don’t say sh*t. Sit over there and enjoy what you enjoy about racing and NASCAR. But I think it’s fun as hell.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. gives his verdict on calls to replace Daytona and Talladega

One of the big topics of discussion since this weeks highly entertaining Atlanta Cup race has been the possibility of it replacing the tracks such as Daytona and Talladega, as well NASCAR limiting races in these iconic tracks. But Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t a big fan of these idea as he wants the sport to make changes to make racing better not abandoned the tracks.

My opinion to that would be we make a lot of mistakes by leaving racetracks because the racing isn’t good. That is the wrong approach. You should make the racing better, not leave the track. Them two tracks right there are quite unique and very historic.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said.

The veteran is spot on with his assertion, as Dega and Daytona are two of the most historic tracks in the schedule and abandoning them for other races will hurt the sport in the long term as well as in the short term. It would be interesting to see what NASCAR would do to make racing better in these venues.
