“I F** Aced That!” Carson Hocevar Gives Controversial Streamer IShowSpeed a NASCAR Ride-Along at Daytona

NASCAR is the top tier racing series in the US. Thus, it is no surprise that the stock car championship often attracts big personalities and influencers. At the final regular season race in Daytona, famous YouTuber IShowSpeed took a trip on the circuit with Spire’s Carson Hocevar.

Carson Hocevar took IShowSpeed on the superspeedway in a NASCAR around the Daytona International Speedway. The 20-year-old was shocked to experience the incredible speed of a stock car. Moreover, even the internet sensation got a chance to get behind the cockpit.

NASCAR Racing Experience provided IShowSpeed a Chevrolet to race around the circuit. The streamer freely drove around the track and tried to maximize his pace. Though, he quickly recognized that racing a NASCAR is no easy feat with almost no room for drivers to move around. He spent eight minutes on the track, reaching a top speed of 124mph.

For context, the pole speed for this year’s Daytona 500 was 182.745 mph by Chase Briscoe. The YouTuber showed his joy in a profane expression. IShowSpeed went as far as claiming that he had a lot more fun in NASCAR than his previous outing in an ‘F1 thing.’ Last year, he did a livestream where he drove an F4 car at Germany’s Nürburgring.

IShowSpeed said on livestream.

The ride with Carson Hocevar was part of IShowSpeed’s 35-day streaming marathon. The internet personality has over 43 million subscribers on YouTube, with 1.4 million following him on the streaming platform, Twitch. His outing at Daytona had an average viewership of around 35,000.

This was not all however. Carson Hocevar took IShowSpeed for another spin around the track, this time in a firetruck, with the siren turned on. The YouTuber noticed the high banking at the circuit before the two had some fun with the firehoses in the infield.

NASCAR drivers are the best in the world of stock car racing. The likes of Carson Hocevar know exactly how to maximize the pace of the car, despite having no room for error. Such an experience is impossible in real-life. This was something was that evident with the way IShowSpeed reacted inside the cockpit at Daytona.

Spire Motorsports shared a screenshot of the livestream on X. The image showed IShowSpeed seemingly lose all his calm as he tried to survive inside the car while Carson Hocevar maximized the speed. The team joked that perhaps the YouTuber got a little scared as Hocevar drove him around the Daytona International Speedway. Nevertheless, the team thanked him for visiting its garage the past weekend.

Certainly, it was interesting to see the world of NASCAR merge with YouTube at Daytona, a crossover not many would’ve expected. NASCAR is trying to expand its reach in recent years, particularly amongst younger audiences at a time when F1 is penetrating the US market. Collaborations with the likes of IShowSpeed could do wonders for the sport in the long run.
