Carlos Alcaraz possesses an exuberant personality, which, combined with his unpredictable playing style, makes his matches even more spectacular. Even in the toughest of on-court situations, Alcaraz doesn’t forget to smile from ear to ear, serving as an inspiration for many of his fellow players from both the ATP and the WTA.

His arch-rival, Jannik Sinner, called him “one of the best entertainers” in tennis. Last year, he was honored with the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award. Recently, Natalia Beciu, who is a PR and events organizer based in Ibiza (one of Alcaraz’s favorite vacation destinations), shared an anecdote about meeting the six-time Grand Slam champion on the La Formula del Exito podcast.

I had a couple of friends with me, and I introduced my friend, whom he had never met in person. And he said, ‘Of course, I remember you perfectly! Hey, thank you so much!’ Because she was the friend I had brought with me to see him at Wimbledon. And he had given us the tickets.

Natalia Beciu said

Beciu said the 22-year-old is someone who lights up the room and is one of the few people in the world whose “humility and politeness” have moved her.

And he was like, ‘Wow, I remember you perfectly! How are you? Hey, did you enjoy the match?’ It had been a year! And the guy said, ‘Thank you so much for coming to Wimbledon to see me.’ He is humble and noble. He is a wonderful person, extremely disciplined.

Natalia Beciu added

Alcaraz, before heading for Melbourne for the Australian Open, featured in the Hyundai Card Super Match in Incheon. He has registered his first win over the four-time Grand Slam champion after two exhibition defeats since the 2024 season (in the finals of the 2024 and 2025 Six Kings Slam).

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner won $2.3 million each for participating in the South Korea exhibition

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner reunited in South Korea, quite a few weeks after their career’s first clash in the championship match of the ATP Finals, which Sinner defended with a straight-set win. In the exhibition event, held at INSPIRE Arena in Incheon, the Murcia native secured a 7-5, 7-6 (6) win, prior to which, Sehun, a member of the South Korean boy band EXO, did the coin toss.

Alcaraz and Sinner, also two of the most marketable sportsmen in the world, reportedly pocketed $2.3 million each for their appearance in the exhibition. Now that it’s done and dusted, they will start their preparation for the Australian Open, which starts on January 18.

Obviously, now the main goal is in Australia. At the end of the day, exhibition matches are different; you are a bit more relaxed and also entertaining the crowd a little bit more with different shots and different actions on court.

Jannik Sinner said during his on-court interview

Sinner, at the Melbourne Park, will be bidding for his third consecutive title. In the previous two finals, he overcame Daniil Medvedev (2024) in five sets and breezed past Alexander Zverev (2025) in straight sets. If he wins, he will become the second man after Novak Djokovic to complete the three-peat in the event in the Open Era.

Alcaraz, who has never advanced to the semifinals in Melbourne, will be aiming for the Career Grand Slam. The win will make him the youngest man in the Open Era to complete the feat, surpassing his idol, Rafael Nadal. Sinner and Alcaraz have split the last eight Majors, with the former reaching the finals of all four Grand Slams last year.
