Brock Lesnar’s emotional farewell at WrestleMania 42 appeared to mark the uncertain end of the Beast’s in-ring career, leaving fans disappointed as it seemed the former 10-time WWE Champion was walking away from professional wrestling for good. However, in a shocking twist, few expected Lesnar to return just weeks later and lay waste to Oba Femi after nearly a month away following his emotional goodbye to the WWE Universe.

While fans were stunned to see the Beast Incarnate make his surprise return on RAW, many also questioned WWE’s storytelling, especially since Lesnar’s emotions after his WrestleMania 42 defeat appeared completely genuine. Former RAW manager, Eric Bischoff, shared a similar reaction while discussing the segment on his 83 Weeks podcast.

Eric Bischoff called Brock Lesnar’s return ‘reactionary’ and ‘random’

During his podcast, Eric Bischoff admitted that he was more confused than shocked by Brock Lesnar’s sudden return to attack Oba Femi. According to Bischoff, everything he witnessed at WrestleMania 42 made it clear that the Beast’s emotions were genuine and not part of an act.

He said, “Surprised and confused would be the most accurate way to describe my reaction. What I saw when he took off his stuff, that emotion was real. Brock is not an actor, he is a Beast and a hell of an athlete”.

Bischoff further explained that the emotions displayed during the post-match segment felt completely authentic, which is why Lesnar’s quick return only weeks later did not make much sense to him.

“Why would you flip it around two weeks later, yeah, he showed up and surprised everyone, that’s been done a thousand times”, said Bischoff.

He also noted that WWE should have planned something bigger to give fans a clearer indication of what would follow after the emotional WrestleMania 42 moment. Describing Lesnar’s return as “reactionary and random,” Bischoff even floated the possibility that Brock may have genuinely become emotional in the ring or later realized he had left a massive amount of money on the table.

Regardless of the reason behind it, Lesnar’s return came as a huge surprise and sent shockwaves throughout the online wrestling community.

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi set to face again at Clash In Italy

As revealed by Paul Heyman to Adam Pearce on RAW earlier this week, the Beast has officially challenged Oba Femi to a showdown at Clash In Italy. With their rivalry continuing to escalate, the potential match now carries major significance, especially with Brock Lesnar likely aiming to score a dominant victory over the Ruler this time around.

Fans have already begun speculating that Lesnar could win the highly anticipated clash, which would pave the way for a perfect trilogy finale at SummerSlam 2026 in Minneapolis, Brock’s hometown. A hometown farewell for Lesnar has been heavily discussed ever since the venue was announced, and it would be a fitting stage for the Beast Incarnate to genuinely hang up his boots in front of his home crowd.
