Over the years NASCAR and Hollywood have had a complicated relationship, owing to the fact that the southern racing culture isn’t represented in the movies as the majority of the fans wants. One of the most controversial movies ever made based on the sport is the sport-comedy Talladega Nights and 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace hates it like majority of the fans.
On the latest episode of the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, which he attended alongside close friend Ryan Blaney, the TRD driver was asked about his feeling about the controversial movie. He declared that it is one of the worst films ever made, as he sees it as a film that mocks the sport, he has been part of for more than a decade.
It’s the worst fu**ing movie ever. … Well, it’s just a mockery of the sport. No one fu**ing shakes and bakes.

The Toyota driver Bubba Wallace isn’t the only driver that has the feeling about “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” that stars Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Sacha Baron Cohen. Reigning Cup Series champion Kyle Larson recently also admitted that the movie turned stock car racing into a joke, but admitted that he still likes the film.
I mean, I like the movie. … I think it did not do anything good for our sport. I think it turned our sport into a joke, unfortunately.
Kyle Larson told Julian Edelman’s Games With Names podcast.
Bubba Wallace calls Carson Hocevar a goober
In the same podcast, the 23XI driver was asked about rival driver Carson Hocevar. The Spire Motorsport driver, who won the Talladega regular season race, is one of the biggest rising stars in the sport and is expected to be the next face of NASCAR by many.

Wallace admitted that the Spire driver is like a goober in the garage, as he rarely interacts with his fellow driver unlike the rest. He is someone that likes it to keep it to himself as he likes his routine of iRacing on weekdays and Cup racing on Sunday’s more than anything.
He’s kind of just a goober. He doesn’t interact with any of the drivers. He’s just to himself. All he does is iRacing and goes and races on the weekends.
Bubba Wallace said on the podcast.
The comments from the veteran driver shows why Hocevar being aggressive on the track irks drivers more than when others do. Even Wallace himself had had run-ins with the NO:77 Chevy as they have damaged their cars significantly in incidents at The Clash and at the Martinsville race. It would be interesting how the duels between the duo are going to playout in the coming years.
