(Video) Ilia Topuria Dedicates Special Rose to Justin Gaethje in New UFC Freedom 250 Promo

Ilia Topuria’s rise in the UFC has been defined by knockout power and strong charismatic confidence. Leading up to major fights, the Spaniard often states his intention to finish opponents without leaving any doubt in the result. That mindset was fully displayed in the UFC Freedom 250 promotional video, where Topuria issued a direct warning to Justin Gaethje ahead of their title bout.

The new UFC Freedom 250 promotional video highlighted Gaethje in a cinematic sequence built around American symbolism. It showed Gaethje walking through an open field holding the American flag. The segment carried a patriotic tone tied to his identity. It then transitioned into a montage featuring the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial in sweeping shots, followed by Gaethje’s career highlights.

The promotional video then shifted its focus to Topuria during training sequences. It then cut to career-defining knockouts against Max Holloway, Alexander Volkanovski, and Charles Oliveira. The segment concluded with the champion walking into a dimly lit room and placing a white rose in front of Gaethje’s photo. His previous opponents were shown with red roses already placed in front of their images.

Justin will fall at the White House. I have a special rose just for him.

The video marked the second major promotional release for the June 14th UFC Freedom 250 event. The first promotional video was entirely generated using artificial intelligence. It depicted the headlining fighters arriving at the White House wearing formal suits. The AI-driven presentation aimed to stylize the event setting and participants. However, it drew significant backlash over heavy AI use in UFC content.

The rose has become a key symbol of Topuria’s identity throughout his rise. It connects to his Spanish heritage and cultural imagery associated with Spain. The symbolism is linked to bullfighting themes, reflecting tradition and intensity. His nickname ‘El Matador’ directly reinforces this cultural connection. This identity has helped Topuria become a major star in Spain and a leading figure in combat sports.

The lightweight champion has continued to project strong self-belief throughout the fight week build-up. Topuria has also recently expressed satisfaction with the general fan consensus that he will knock out Justin Gaethje. He has repeatedly promised a decisive finish in the lightweight title unification bout. Overall, Ilia Topuria’s continued confidence and public declarations underscore his mindset.

UFC featherweight champion makes an early prediction for Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje

Ilia Topuria and Alexander Volkanovski share a significant competitive history, dating back to their UFC featherweight title clash. Their meeting took place at UFC 298 in 2024 for the UFC featherweight championship. Topuria defeated Volkanovski by knockout, capturing his first UFC title in a breakthrough performance. The result marked Volkanovski’s first stoppage loss in the 145-pound division.

Since their fight, Topuria and Volkanovski have remained on respectful terms outside the Octagon. Both fighters have stayed in good standing following their UFC 298 clash. Volkanovski has praised Topuria’s personality, rapid progress in the UFC, and rise as a champion. As the Spaniard prepares for his first lightweight title defense against Justin Gaethje, Volkanovski has also made his prediction for the matchup.

As soon as Gaethje opens up, game over. I think it could be that quick once he leaves himself open, and I think that’s eventually bound to happen. If Justin Gaethje fights very defensively, you might see it go into the second or maybe even the third round, but as soon as Gaethje opens up, I think you’re going to see the finish. That’s what I truly believe.

After their fight, Alexander Volkanovski reclaimed the featherweight title and re-established himself at the top of the division. He defeated Diego Lopes at UFC 314 to regain the belt. ‘Volk’ then defended it in a rematch at UFC 325 as a two-time champion. These results reinforced his elite status in the UFC. His championship run adds context to his rivalry history with Ilia Topuria following UFC 298.
