It has been a long time since Damian Lillard was last seen playing on an NBA court. He missed the entire 2025-26 campaign due to a torn Achille Tendon. The injury also saw him return to the Portland Trail Blazers after the Milwaukee Bucks waived him off in the offseason last year.

While he has continued with his recovery over the past year, it looks like he has to deal with some personal problems as well. The nine-time All-Star married his college sweetheart, Kay’La Hanson, in 2021.

They dated for over a decade after they met at Weber State University in Utah. Lillard played basketball for four years at Weber State, while Hanson studied nursing. They have three children together.

Unfortunately, their relationship broke down and Damian Lillard filed for a divorce in 2023 when he got traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. Their divorce was finalized in 2024. It was a difficult time for the former All-Star MVP.

However, it looks like there has been a new development in his private life. According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, Hanson fired off a subpoena asking a woman named Justie Wolf to answer questions about her child with the NBA star. Hanson believes that the two share a child together.

Hanson wants Wolf to turn over any communication she has had with the Trail Blazers guard. She has even demanded Wolf to turn over any messages with Lillard from when he learned he may be the father. The subpoena also requested any paternity test results, and any photographs that Lillard may have with the young daughter.

It is a huge development in Lillard’s personal life. However as per latest reports, Wolf is opposing the request and Lillard is yet to make any comments on the matter.

Can Damian Lillard turn the Portland Trail Blazers into playoff contenders next year?

It has been over a year since Damian Lillard was last seen in action. However, he did make an appearance at the All-Star weekend as he stunned the NBA world by winning his third three-point contest crown.

While his shooting is still very much there, it remains to be seen how his body will be physically when the new season gets underway. Lillard’s move to the Bucks did not work out as he never made it past the first round in his two years there.

The Bucks missed the playoffs entirely this year, but the Trail Blazers showed promising signs this season. They finished at seventh place in a highly competitive Western Conference standings with a 42-40 record. It was their first playoff appearance in five years.

While they were beaten in the first round by the San Antonio Spurs in five games, the front office will be optimistic with Lillard set to join them next season. The 35-year-old will give the Blazers offense a much needed boost, which they missed this year.

Damian Lillard calls himself the second best shooter in NBA history

When the Blazers drafted Damian Lillard as the number six pick in the 2012 NBA draft, they picked a player who was regarded as the top point guard prospect in the country. Known for his shooting and unlimited range, Lillard is an elite scorer of the ball as well.

Recently on X, a fan argued that Lillard is not the second-best shooter of all time as he put out the numbers. The post caught Lillard’s attention who chimed in.

He won Rookie of the Year award in 2013 and has grown with every passing season. He averages 37.1% from beyond the arc for his career in the regular season and 90% from the free throw line. He even led the club to the Western Conference Finals in 2019.

There is no doubt that Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time. The second place is up for debate but it looks like Lillard believes that he deserves to be up there.
