Bryce Mitchell is widely regarded as one of the UFC’s most controversial fighters due to his polarizing ideologies and outspoken public comments. The ex-featherweight star has long shared strong views on American politics. Recently, Mitchell suggested political motivations are linked to UFC Freedom 250. He has now weighed in on reports that Sean Strickland was barred from attending the event.

The UFC Freedom 250 card is scheduled for June 14 on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C. The event coincides with President Donald Trump‘s 80th birthday and Flag Day, and also falls within the celebrations surrounding America’s 250th anniversary. UFC officials have planned a unique outdoor “Claw” setup, making it one of the most ambitious events in the promotion’s history.

Strickland is the current UFC middleweight champion and the promotion’s only male American titleholder. He is also known for controversial comments and a strong social media presence. Strickland recently revealed that UFC officials informed him he would not be permitted to attend UFC Freedom 250. The situation quickly gained attention, prompting Mitchell to share his thoughts on the matter.

I’m not surprised at all. We ought to be able to criticize our own nation, let alone a foreign nation. [Israel] is the only nation you’re not allowed to criticize. Something’s gonna change, because evil empires don’t last forever.

What makes the situation more interesting is the rocky relationship between Mitchell and Strickland in recent years. They were once friendly acquaintances before tensions arose. This came after Mitchell apologized for previous comments about Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust.

Strickland later criticized Mitchell for abandoning the personality that had originally defined his image. Nevertheless, Mitchell didn’t take much offense as he vocally supported ‘Tarzan’ before his middleweight title fight against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328.

Strickland has also previously expressed his lack of interest in participating in UFC Freedom 250 due to limited opportunities for fan interaction. However, he later revealed that since he was not invited by the UFC, he plans to attend independently. ‘Tarzan’ stated that he intends to support his friend Alex Pereira, who is set to face Ciryl Gane in an interim heavyweight title clash while chasing a third divisional title.

Both Strickland and Bryce Mitchell have faced scrutiny for their unpredictable personalities and polarizing trash talk. Their outspoken behavior has often kept them at the center of controversy. For now, ‘Thug Nasty’ is focused on his upcoming matchup against Santiago Luna at UFC Vegas 118. Sean Strickland, meanwhile, is preparing to make a statement as the June 14 UFC Freedom 250 date approaches.

Bryce Mitchell criticizes the American government for hosting the UFC White House event

The UFC White House event is being labeled as the biggest in the promotion’s history, drawing global attention since its announcement. It is described as a joint concept linked to UFC CEO Dana White and President Donald Trump. The event marks the first combat sports card ever staged at the White House. Bryce Mitchell was once a supporter of Trump and frequently praised him in interviews. He aligned himself with Trump’s policies early in his UFC career. However, his stance shifted after he criticized Trump over economic frustrations and foreign aid decisions. Mitchell has since reversed his position and recently reminded government institutions of their responsibilities as UFC Freedom 250 approaches.

What I think, personally, is that our government is desecrating its role in society by entertaining sports. Our government is supposed to protect and serve the people. When you’re doing all this stuff, hosting sporting events, it’s really outside what the goal of the government is intended to be because our tax dollars and resources are funding this operation.

Former UFC champions have also criticized the White House event as debate around it continues. Israel Adesanya said he does not intend to attend due to global tensions. Kamaru Usman also publicly dismissed the concept. These reactions have intensified discussion around UFC Freedom 250. Bryce Mitchell’s comments further add to the ongoing controversy surrounding the card.
