The friendship between Arman Tsarukyan and Khamzat Chimaev has continued to grow since UFC 319. Both fighters have regularly supported each other during important stages of their careers. They have also cornered one another for major fights. Tsarukyan will undoubtedly be in Chimaev’s corner again when the Chechen phenom makes his RAF debut against Dillon Danis at RAF 10.

Chimaev is currently recovering from his UFC 328 defeat to Sean Strickland, his first professional loss. Tsarukyan was in his corner and remained a major presence throughout the training camp. He spent considerable time alongside Chimaev at Santo Studio and The Treigning Lab. The Armenian star has also been among Real American Freestyle’s most active competitors, already making five appearances in 2026.

What makes Danis such a controversial and polarizing figure is his constant trash talk and willingness to cross boundaries. Over the years, he has targeted opponents with personal attacks and social media campaigns. Tsarukyan was recently asked if Danis would do the same against Chimaev. However, Tsarukyan suggested why Danis would not take the same approach in person ahead of RAF 10.

Dillon Danis has previously taken shots at Chimaev and questioned the hype surrounding the Chechen star. After Chimaev withdrew from his January 2021 fight with Leon Edwards due to COVID-19 complications, Danis publicly criticized him online.

The Bellator veteran has also repeatedly promoted his own grappling credentials. He once claimed that Chimaev would not last a second on the ground with him.

Danis is known for not holding back in his trolling and frequently crossing boundaries with his trash talk. That reputation was evident at UFC 322, where he became involved in a brawl with members of UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev‘s team.

It was later revealed that ‘El Jefe’ showed AI-generated videos depicting Makhachev and manager Ali Abdelaziz in a mock romantic relationship.

Arman Tsarukyan also has a history of getting involved in altercations when tensions boil over. During his UFC 300 walkout, he punched a fan after being disrespected on his way to the Octagon. More recently, he nearly got into a brawl with Kurdish fighter Namo Fazil at an MVP MMA event. If Dillon Danis brings his controversial persona to RAF 10, emotions could easily spill over outside the competition itself.

Arman Tsarukyan reveals Khamzat Chimaev’s unique approach ahead of RAF 10

Khamzat Chimaev’s development has taken him through several respected gyms during his combat sports career. He initially trained at AllStars Training Center alongside UFC veteran Alexander Gustafsson. Chimaev later spent time at Xtreme Couture. He has now moved to The Treigning Lab under Sam Calavitta to improve his conditioning. He now trains at the rising Santo Studio gym, surrounded by an elite team.

However, one of the biggest influences on Chimaev’s fighting style has remained wrestling coach Salim Nutsalkhanov. The respected coach has played a key role in developing Chimaev’s grappling foundation and overall wrestling approach throughout his career. Recently, Arman Tsarukyan revealed that Chimaev has brought in his first freestyle wrestling coach as preparations intensify for RAF 10.

He is preparing in Abu Dhabi. Khamzat brought in the first freestyle wrestling coach. He’s taking this seriously and getting ready.

‘Borz’ has already begun attracting major challenges under the RAF banner despite not making his debut yet. Among the most notable names is Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder, who has publicly called out the Chechen superstar for a future matchup. A potential meeting between the decorated wrestler and Khamzat Chimaev would be one of the promotion’s biggest attractions.
