Morgan Riddle, the ex-girlfriend of Taylor Fritz, has vowed that she will never date an athlete again. The two ended their relationship in April this year after dating for six years.
They met in Los Angeles in June 2020, and Morgan used to be frequently on the move with Fritz due to his career as a tennis player. During her interview with Elle magazine, Morgan, although she did not reveal the reason behind the split, said they are both on friendly terms.
When public relationships end, it’s standard to do some sort of Instagram statement or video, and I tried to write that a few times, and I was just like, ‘This is not me’… We’re on good terms, so I wanted to make it more lighthearted than breakups usually are online.
Morgan Riddle said
When she was in college, she dated a hockey player, which for her was “traumatizing”. And after her breakup with the 2024 US Open finalist, Riddle shared a list of non-negotiables for her next relationship. Even though she and Fritz amicably split, she would never date an athlete again.
I made, like, a 33-point non-negotiables list for [my next relationship]. It has basic things like political alignment, shared life goals, intellectual intimacy, no sports betting or gambling; it only makes my life happier. When I look toward my next relationship, I will prioritize being loved in the way that [Colton Arman, her best friend] loves me. […] I would not have been able to make the decision I made or do what I’ve done the last two months without him. I’ll never date an athlete again.
Morgan Riddle added
Riddle announced the split while wearing a ‘world’s best ex-girlfriend’ shirt in an Instagram post. The influencer built a brand while she was dating the tennis ace, and also wondered what would have happened after the split if she hadn’t made her own money.
Taylor Fritz will play at the Stuttgart Open
Taylor Fritz will be back in action for the first time since his defeat to Nishesh Basavareddy in the first round of the French Open. In the clay-court Major, World No.3 Alexander Zverev secured a five-set victory over Flavio Cobolli to clinch his career’s first Grand Slam title.

The grass swing has already started. Several top players will be in action this week, including Fritz. He is in Stuttgart to defend his title. Last year in the final, Fritz defeated Zverev to win his fourth title on grass.
The 28-year-old is the winner of five grass-court titles, with his last title being the 2025 Eastbourne International, which he won by defeating Jenson Brooksby. It was also his fourth title in the tournament. Fritz hasn’t yet won a title since that Eastbourne victory. But he has already played a final this year, at the Dallas Open, which he lost to compatriot Ben Shelton.
At the Stuttgart Open, Fritz will lock horns with rising star Martin Landaluce to start his title defense. Fritz hasn’t made deep runs since the Dallas Open, and before his opening-round exit, he also lost his first-round match at the Geneva Open.
Apart from the 2024 US Open, Fritz has made just one more semifinal in the Grand Slam events. It was at the 2025 Wimbledon that he lost in four sets to eventual runner-up Carlos Alcaraz.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion, who skipped the French Open due to a wrist injury he suffered during the Barcelona Open, has also pulled out of the grass-court Major. At Wimbledon, World No.1 Jannik Sinner will be competing as the defending champion.
