The New York Knicks fans are on cloud nine at the moment. It has been a long wait for one of the most popular franchises in the NBA. After beating the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the NBA Finals, the Knicks lifted their first championship since 1973 and their third overall.
The celebrations have been nonstop since Sunday night after the Knicks won Game 5 at the Frost Bank Center. During their title run, the Knicks lost just three games in the entire postseason.
The passionate fanbase has been celebrating and is gearing up for the bus parade. With several fans not even born when they last won the title, many of them were not prepared to leave their championship parade view to chance. Hence, images were captured of fans already getting their spots for the parade nearly 24 hours before it starts.

The New York Knicks fans have made headlines multiple times throughout the playoffs. While they are a loyal fanbase, there have been moments where things have gotten out of hand in the last few weeks.
After losing Game 3 at home in the Finals, violence broke out at a watch party outside of Bryant Park. NYPD clashed with the fans, and the police had to deploy pepper spray to contain the crowd.
Another incident that gave the Knicks fans a bad look was when some of them were seen throwing eggs at Victor Wembanyama after Game 4. It was an unfortunate incident, but the French star remained calm and composed. However, all of those incidents are behind them as they get ready to throw a huge celebration in New York with their team.
New York Knicks parade is going to be a historic celebration
A huge number of fans are expected to turn up. The massive ticker-tape parade should draw hundreds of thousands of fans to Lower Manhattan on Thursday. The one-mile route will have at least 10,000 officers assigned. Considering it is their first title in 53 years, it is the franchise’s first-ever ticker-tape parade.
The merchandise sales have already been off the charts after the Knicks won Game 5. Many believe it could be the largest parade in New York’s history. The excitement and anticipation are already very high as fans have started to reserve their spots 24 hours in advance.
The security is expected to be very tight, and everyone will be hoping that no chaos or any sort of violence breaks out during the celebrations. The support at the Garden has been incredible throughout the playoffs as well. The fans have the opportunity to throw the biggest celebration in the city’s history.
Knicks had one of the greatest runs to win a championship
The Knicks switched gears after going 2-1 down against the Atlanta Hawks in the first round. They went on a 13-match winning streak since, as they clean-swept the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers in the next two rounds.
They carried that momentum to the NBA Finals as well. They took a 2-0 lead as they won the first two games on the road against a heavily favored San Antonio Spurs.

Former NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady heaped praise on the Knicks for their incredible playoff run.
Because when you look at it I go back to the other one that probably lives up to that to me is probably Dirk’s run and Dirk is probably at the top to me of what he went through like the teams he knocked off. So that’s at the top. But what the Knicks did man I put that up there. I think overall collectively as a team bro they were amazing. That was a great run and it was a great team win got they played.
