Josh Hokit has a new target as he eyes his next fight in the UFC heavyweight division. Fresh off a win against Derrick Lewis, the undefeated heavyweight has fired shots at interim champion Ciryl Gane. But he didn’t stop there, as the rising star also picked a fight with retired UFC legend, Daniel Cormier.

Gane and Hokit recently fought on the same card and emerged victorious. The 36-year-old defeated Alex Pereira to become the interim heavyweight champion for the second time in his career, also stopping the Brazilian from winning his third UFC belt. On the other hand, Hokit is now 4-0 in the UFC after his White House card fight with 3 of those coming in 2026.

Moreover, two of those wins were against opponents ranked in the top 10 of the division. As such, the ‘Incredible Hok’ has climbed to No. 4 in the heavyweight rankings. Having cemented his place in the top 5, Hokit has called out ‘Bon Gamin’ to a fight in September in front of the Frenchman’s home crowd in Paris.

Ciryl Gane wears a thong when he mows his lawn… if Aspinall doesn’t come back then let’s fight September in Paris… I’ll beat you in a fight and in a game of 1-on-1 basketball because I’m the greatest all around athlete to ever step into the octagon!!

For his part, after winning at the White House, Ciryl Gane had called out undisputed heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall for the aforementioned date in Paris. But Josh Hokit seems to want yet another quick turnaround despite the Englishman accepting Gane’s callout. It is also telling that Josh Hokit has brought up beating Gane in basketball.

Videos of the Frenchman flaunting his skills on the court have gone viral lately. His immense athleticism is on full display in the clips as he throws down reverse-360 and windmill tomahawk dunks effortlessly. Despite this impressive display during his fighter check-in for the White House card, Daniel Cormier challenged the interim champion to a game of 1-on-1 basketball, much like Hokit.

As mentioned prior, Cormier is also embroiled in a feud with Hokit after the latter’s controversial comments at the White House. Much like Gane, the undefeated heavyweight has also antagonized Cormier with a response on social media.

At UFC Freedom 250, Josh Hokit ended his octagon interview in the most controversial way possible. The American heavyweight claimed that former First Lady of America, Michelle Obama, was a man. This remark was met with severe backlash with even Hokit’s boss Dana White uncharacteristically bashing his employee for the nature of these remarks.

Even voices outside the sport criticized Hokit for this shocking statement. That said, Daniel Cormier was among the first MMA analysts to criticize the No. 4 ranked UFC heavyweight. The former UFC double champion held nothing back as he lambasted Hokit on his YouTube channel for his comments on someone who had nothing to do with the recent event at the White House.

It was completely uncalled for…It was an unnecessary shot on her. That’s the type of statement that divides. I absolutely hated that… It was disgusting. Get it together dude.

Now, Josh Hokit has responded to Cormier in a similar, scathing manner on his X account.

I’m not here for unity, in reality there will never be unity… I come to divide people’s faces… if you don’t like it then come do something about it…

The Incredible Hok is one of the few fighters that UFC CEO Dana White chooses to criticize for their comments. Earlier, White was critical of the heavyweight feuding with someone he would never fight in Ilia Topuria after riling up the former lightweight champion at a Newark presser. Although, to be fair to the 28-year-old, he has directed his theatrical insults towards Alex Pereira in that instance.

However, the nature of his comments were so severe to El Matador that he even vowed to beat up the much heavier Hokit. Nonetheless, the brash heavyweight’s ways have evidently not changed since then. This latest callout of Gane and vitriolic response to Cormier are the latest blazes that the perennial firestarter has ignited.
