Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson is one of the most talented racers in his generation and is arguably the best drivers on the current garage. He is currently 33 years old and might’ve 10 more years left to offer to stock car racing. Once his time in the top division of motorsports is over, he might give responsibility of expanding the family legacy to one of his kids.
His son Owen and daughter Audrey have already started racing in the lower division, proving themselves to be capable racers. On his recent appearance on the Racin’ With The Boys podcast, he was asked who he sees as his successor and he named his daughter instead of the son. While both solid drivers, the daughter is more mentally confident, and are super serious about any sport she is part of just like his dad.
I would say my daughter… I just think it’s hard to kind of compare them because they’re different, but my son, he’s good too, but he’s not mentally confident as she is. She is very competitive, and she wants to do a good job and everything that she does. She races, she plays ice hockey, and she takes everything super serious.
Kyle Larson responded.
Audrey Larson seems to have inherited the hunger for win and the dedication to the craft from Kyle Larson, two key factor that has helped the reigning champion to thrive in the sport. He pointed out that she is a step ahead of his son in terms of being more coachable owing to the fact that she is better in retaining information about races.
She’ll sit down on the couch and study film and think she’s a girl too… You can actually retain information a little bit better. Yeah, you can talk to her and then try to coach her and see her try to do it on the racetrack. So yeah, I think, she’s a step ahead.

Kyle Larson is confident after recent streak of strong runs
After a tough start to the season, the No:5 team seems to have found the right balance with the car and is performing consistently. He finished inside the top-5 in five of the last six races, with strong run at Sonoma last Sunday. Talking about it, he asserted that he is confident about their pace and believes right now there are in the best form of their season.

It was a good day, though. Happy with the race car, happy with the pit crew, the strategy and all those things. And another top five for us. So, a good little stretch of races here. It’s definitely the best we’ve been all year. I’m so inconsistent throughout my Cup career. But, yeah, I’m proud of our team. We’ve been working so hard. all year not just the 5 team but all of Hendrick Motorsports.
Kyle Larson said.
Further talking about the point, he highlighted the pace disadvantage the Chevy’s still has against Toyota, as Shane van Gisbergen won at Sonoma because of his skill advantage not the car. But it showed the signs that they are improving enough to get back to winning way soon.
The Toyotas are still the best. Even with SVG winning today, they were on his butt, so that shows how good they were. But yeah, we’re way closer than we were to start the year, and I feel like we’re just gaining little bits at a time. So just keep stacking that, and hopefully we’ll peak when it comes to the final 10, and we’ll have a good shot in the Chase.
Kyle Larson added.
The comments from the Hendrick Motorsports driver shows he is confident and determined over getting back on the victory lane, as he hasn’t won a single race for over a year. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the veteran in the coming weeks.
