Tom Hiddleston and Andrew Garfield were among the celebrities watching from Centre Court as defending Wimbledon champion Iga Świątek suffered a surprise fourth round exit to Alex Eala at the All England Club in London on July 4.

The actors were seen applauding after Filipina tennis star defeated Świątek 7-6, 6-2 to reach the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time in her career. Television cameras captured Hiddleston and Garfield reacting from the stands following the result.

The victory marked one of the biggest wins of Eala’s career. She became the first Filipina to advance to the fourth round at Wimbledon and continued her breakthrough grass court campaign by eliminating one of the tournament favorites.

Eala will next face World No. 17 Jasmine Paolini with a place in the Wimbledon quarterfinals at stake. Earlier in the tournament, Eala also met Catherine, Princess of Wales, and tennis legend Billie Jean King during her run at the All England Club.

The victory added another milestone to Eala’s standout 2026 season and strengthened her position as one of the sport’s emerging talents after defeating the defending champion on one of tennis’s biggest stages.

Andrew Garfield attended the match with girlfriend Monica Barbaro, with the couple spending the day in the Ralph Lauren suite and at the newly opened Polo Bar at Centre Court.

Garfield wore a light blue Ralph Lauren button up shirt with matching trousers, while Barbaro chose an all white Ralph Lauren outfit with black sunglasses and strappy sandals. During the outing, the pair were photographed sharing affectionate moments, including exchanging kisses on each other’s cheeks while watching the action.

The couple were seated alongside Hiddleston, Anna Wintour, Joel Edgerton and Zachary Hart as they watched play on day six of the Championships.

Garfield and Barbaro were first linked in February 2025 after they were spotted attending a performance of Richard II in London’s West End. A source later confirmed to PEOPLE that they were dating. Since then, the pair have been photographed together at public events, including the Venice International Film Festival, as well as on private outings.

Although Garfield has kept his relationship out of the spotlight, he previously addressed his approach to his personal life in an interview with Esquire.

“I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever,” the actor said in October 2024. “There’s no winning in that realm.”

Garfield and Barbaro continue to make occasional public appearances together, while Eala advances to the Wimbledon fourth round, where she will face Jasmine Paolini for a place in the quarterfinals.
