Micah Parsons has never shied away from speaking his mind. The Green Bay Packers star edge posted a controversial tweet about soccer generating immense buzz.
FIFA selected the USA, Mexico, and Canada as the host nations of the 2026 World Cup. Cities like Dallas, Philadelphia, Houston, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Atlanta, Seattle, and New York received games, divided into group stages and the knockouts, with New York being selected as the venue for the final.
The only World Cup game Parsons reportedly attended was the Group I game between Norway and Ivory Coast at Dallas Stadium.
The final took place on Sunday between Spain and Argentina. Argentina were the defending champions, while Spain’s last World Cup triumph came back in 2010.

Argentina had been the center of controversy for several reasons. Throughout the tournament, fans and other teams complained of favoritism from match officials.
However, Spain dominated the final. Even Argentina’s best player, Lionel Messi, seemed powerless against the Spanish press. Argentina was reduced to 10 men but held on to force extra time. In the first half of extra time, the officials dismissed a goal from Spain’s Nico Williams after a VAR check. However, Spain eventually opened the scoring through Ferran Torres. They hung on to win the tournament.
After the final whistle, Micah Parsons tweeted that soccer is rigged. That said, he didn’t specify the reason behind his hypothesis.
“Lol soccer is a fixed sport!” Parsons tweeted.

Ahead of the 2025 season, the Green Bay Packers acquired Parsons in a trade that involved a couple of first-round draft picks. Parsons played 14 games in his debut year in Green Bay. He recorded 41 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and a couple of forced fumbles.
Will Micah Parsons play in week one for the Packers?
In Week 15, Parsons suffered a non-contact knee injury that turned out to be an ACL tear. He underwent a reconstructive ACL surgery and a meniscus repair procedure and has been in rehab ever since. He missed both the playoffs and the Pro Bowl games.

Even though Parsons has been rehabbing for a while, he would not be able to play the Packers week one game against the Minnesota Vikings. He would rather wait and fully heal before stepping on the field.
I think the goal has always just been not right now, but longevity with my career here. I think they want that approach. We have a pretty strong nine-month rule. It’s just all about, just through the research and the data, there’s no good outcomes with players coming back early from [an] ACL. Especially if you had other things that had to get fixed up, so it’s just all about completing the rehab to the best of our ability and then seeing where we’re at from there.

Micah Parsons pledges to break the single-season sack record
Last year, Myles Garrett broke former Giants pass rusher Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record by recording 23 sacks in 18 games. Parsons declared that he would break Garrett’s sack record while hosting the Rams edge on Bleacher Report’s football show.
Records are meant to be broken. It took the next man 25 years. It might just take me two years.

If Parsons breaks the record, then he will more than likely win his first Defensive Player of the Year trophy.
