Seven times NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson is one of three GOATs of the sports alongside Richard Petty and late Dale Earnhardt Sr. While three Hall of Famer have won almost everything there is to win the sport, the youngest of the three has earned an honor no-one in NASCAR ever dreamed of getting.
Via a video shared on social media, the Legacy Motor Club co-owner revealed that he will have a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in his name, making him first and only motorsport athlete to get the honor. It shows the cultural impact he has had as he dominated the sport in the same time the viewership of the Cup series hit all-time high. It was an interesting twist and surprise for the legend.
Hollywood Boulevard wasn’t a finish line I ever expected to cross, but becoming the first motorsports athlete on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is truly an incredible honor… Well, just got wind that I’m going to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Super cool news. What an interesting twist, interesting surprise.
Jimmie Johnson said about the honor.
The veteran couldn’t believe he is going to be named among the elite of the Hollywood and it’s a big honor for NASCAR as a sport as well. What’s more interesting is the fact that he is the seventh athlete to make it into the iconic list. It is interesting considering Jimmie Johnson is a seven times champion.
Certainly, been in and around the stars on the walk, and I can’t believe, you know, I’ll have a star there. So, a huge thank you to everyone involved in the process. I think I’m the first race car driver to have a star on the Walk of Fame, and the seventh in the sports category. So, I’m a numbers guy, and number seven keeps following me around. Thank you, everybody.

The names of sport personals that made it to Hollywood Boulevard before Johnson shows its prestige. They include Boxer Mohamad Ali, soccer legend David Beckham, NBA legends Magic Johnson and Shaquille O’Neal, alongside NFL’s Terry Bradshaw and MLB’s Orel Hershiser.
Jimmie Johnson reveals one big regret about his racing career
The now Legacy Motor Club majority owner had a career in NASCAR that can only be matched by a handful. One key reason behind his success was his long-time crew chief Chad Knaus, as the two raced together for 19 years and was the most dominant driver-crew chief duo the sport has ever seen.

While they developed a good relationship over the years, there were some big cracks that was hard to ignore. The pressure to always remain as the front runners and championship contenders caused issues between them, resulting in some of the most iconic radio rants the sports has ever seen.
One thing the veteran racer, who now runs part-time with LMC, still regret about them parting ways owing to disagreement in 2018. They should’ve acted like adults amidst the chaos and walk out of the sport together, instead of the untimely split.
Looking back, I wish we could have been adults at that point in time and closed out. He only went two more years as well. I mean, we were so close to getting a full pull on 19 years.
Jimmie Johnson said recently.
The comments from the veteran shows how much he respected his crew chief and vice versa, even during the controversies. It was fortunate that they were able solve some of the issues in the last few years and was able to celebrate their legacy by making into the Hall of Fame together.
