Over the past 23 years, LeBron James has been playing in the NBA, it is safe to say that he was the most talked-about athlete in the league despite the presence of other all-time greats.

Be it the late great Kobe Bryant or the likes of Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and many others, the focus has always been on the Akron kid who came straight from high school.

Either the media tried to paint him as Michael Jordan‘s heir apparent, or flipped the narrative when James started to threaten His Airness’ legacy and standing in the GOAT debate.

Nowadays, many in the mainstream media still make it a point to find out and say something negative regarding the four-time champion. Many in the podcast world are doing the same, but someone believes the situation has shifted to favor James.

NBA coverage has become so weak. It’s now lead by men/women who didn’t play or LeBron stans/former teammates.

This was former Detroit Pistons star Jalen Rose, who felt that the mainstream media is either not qualified enough to talk about the game objectively or has many former LeBron James teammates who are there to defend him.

Fans tear into Jalen Rose after rant against media

When fans saw this tweet, most of them reminded Jalen Rose that the media had been speaking positively about Michael Jordan for more than two decades. That same media was against LeBron James until a couple of years ago.

Therefore, they felt he was being hypocritical in his opinion, since the media’s bias against the newest Philadelphia 76ers star was evident. They reacted with mostly angry responses, examples of which are below.

Jalen Rose might have a point where the slew of new podcasts helmed by either current or former players is pro-LeBron James. That has helped tilt the narratives whenever the old haters try to say something. But that does not mean something like this should not exist, especially when the entire media was pro-Michael Jordan up until a few years ago.

LeBron James rubbed people the wrong way by joining the Miami Heat

While Jalen Rose tries to draw attention to what he feels is wrong about the media today, Max Kellerman detailed what he felt LeBron James did to make this many analysts and former players angry.

The closest thing LeBron ever did to being anti-competitive was the Heat situation. Even though they didn’t win all four, at the time, two of the best four players in the world, playing together on the same team, and adding another high-level all-star to a Pat Riley team. It rubbed people the wrong way.

Max Kellerman said on Game Over podcast

The former ESPN analyst added that it was not just joining the Heatles. When James claimed that he and his teammates were going to win multiple championships, it was as if he was mocking the rest of the league.

Since then, and the infamous ‘decision,’ the four-time league MVP has managed to anger enough people that they have been out for blood. That is why the narratives have been so negative about James all this time.
