This past Saturday, Tarik Skubal joined the Los Angeles Dodgers through a trade from the Detroit Tigers. As the baseball world continued to criticize the NL West side for this move, the 2-time Cy Young Award winner clapped back at the critics.

In recent years, the Dodgers have come under immense heat for their spending. The 2-time defending World Series champions have made several huge moves and brought in some of the biggest names in the game to Los Angeles.

This has led to many accusing them of “ruining” baseball. So when they landed Skubal by giving up 3 prospects from their farm system, the fans were not happy once again.

Many blasted the team and claimed that a lockout was imminent. On Monday, the southpaw spoke with the reporters and addressed the backlash regarding this.

During his conversation, he defended his new team and claimed that he had no sympathy for people who were not happy with the way the team operates.

Every team could trade for me. Every team could make that acquisition. And I don’t really sympathize with people that blame the Dodgers for anything they’ve done. They’ve developed a really good organization. They draft well, they acquire talent really well, they retain talent. It’s a winning organization.

Tarik Skubal said as per Jesse Rogers

The Dodgers are facing some problems in their pitching rotation at the moment. Two-way star Shohei Ohtani has not thrown a pitch since July 3rd following left knee inflammation and right biceps discomfort. Meanwhile, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow are yet to return to the team.

Right now, their pitching rotation consists of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Eric Lauer, Justin Wrobleski, and Roki Sasaki. Emmet Sheehan, who started the game against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, was optioned to Triple-A.

The addition of Skubal not only gives them a huge boost to their current rotation, but it also boosts their chances of a historic 3-peat. The Dodgers are hoping to become just the 3rd franchise after the New York Yankees and the Athletics to win 3 successive World Series titles.

Dodgers hoping to end losing streak on Tarik Skubal’s debut

While the Los Angeles Dodgers were the big winners off the field by landing Tarik Skubal, they have not won a game since last Thursday. They are now hoping to end this losing streak on Tuesday when the 29-year-old pitcher makes his debut for them.

After their win on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners, the Dodgers lost 9-4 against the Boston Red Sox. The team’s offense continued to struggle over the course of the weekend as the visitors won 3-2 and 8-4 and completed a historic sweep.

On Monday, the Dodgers traveled to Chicago to take on the Chicago Cubs. The NL Central side smashed 4 home runs and handed them a 10-5 defeat.

This marked a 4th successive defeat for the Dodgers. In the last 20 games, they have a 9-11 record and have gone from 60-33 to 69-44.

Skubal’s last start saw him reach a historic milestone. He became the 17th pitcher in Tigers history to reach 1,000 strikeouts. He finished the day with 6 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

For the year, he has a 7-5 record in 16 starts. During this span, he has a 2.79 ERA and 116 strikeouts over 96.2 innings. The Dodgers will be hoping he settles in quickly and helps them get back to winning ways.
