Kevin Durant & Draymond Green Team Up Again: This Time to Flame 2K Over Mid-Range Ratings

Kevin Durant is coming off an incredible 18th season in the NBA. While his season came to an end in a disappointing manner as the Houston Rockets were eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, Durant still posted impressive individual numbers in the regular season.

Meanwhile, Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors missed the entire playoffs after losing to the Phoenix Suns in the final game of the Play-In Tournament. Green struggled to have any meaningful impact on the team as injuries to Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry saw them miss a major chunk of the season.

Over the last few days, NBA 2K has revealed the top-10 highest-rated players in various attributes. However, Durant took issue with his NBA 2K27 mid-range rating. He was rated at 97 and was ranked seventh in the list.

He made his feelings known on social media and called out Ronnie 2K and the company.

Ronnie 2k. 2k as a company….I am triggered….97 middy???????

Kevin Durant is undoubtedly one of the greatest pure scorers the game has ever seen. His offensive arsenal is second to none. He can get to the basket at will, shoot three-pointers, and has always had one of the best mid-range shots ever since he entered the league in 2007. He is often regarded as one of the toughest players to guard by his peers.

Durant has one of the most lethal mid-range shots in the game. He currently has scored 32,597 regular-season points and is ranked fifth all-time after surpassing Michael Jordan earlier this year. Most of his points have come from his mid-range shots. Hence, it is not surprising to see Durant make his frustrations clear on social media.

Draymond Green gets roasted in the comments after reacting to Kevin Durant’s post

Green shares an interesting bond with Durant. The former Defensive Player of the Year played an active role in recruiting Durant to the Warriors back in 2016. In the midst of all their success together, the two were caught in an overblown heated exchange, which played a role in Durant’s exit in 2019. Green also revealed that the Warriors front office forced him to apologize. The two have buried the hatchet and have moved on since.

Following Durant’s post calling out 2K, Green reacted with five laughing emojis in the comments. However, a user then used his response as an opportunity to turn the joke against him. The fan commented:

I just know yo s*** a 72.

Green seemed to be just enjoying seeing Durant’s frustration, as the former MVP has been quite active across social media lately. Unfortunately for him, he unexpectedly got pulled into the exchange.

Draymond Green fired back at the commenter

Draymond Green has never been regarded as a scorer and has always been praised for his leadership and defensive prowess. Since entering the league in 2012 as a second-round pick, Green’s highest scoring season came in the 2015-16 campaign, where he averaged 14 points per game. Last season, he averaged just 8.4 points.

Green has never been known for his shooting, especially mid-range jumpers. Therefore, he transformed the joke about his possible NBA 2K27 rating into a shot at the commenter’s bank account.

I know your account at 72 with no zeroes.

Based on the 2K website, Green’s mid-range is rated at 75, while his overall rating is at 81. It is highly unlikely that Green will have any complaints when it comes to his mid-range rating like Durant. It was never a strong part of his game.

This is not the first time a player has voiced his frustrations over 2K ratings, and it certainly won’t be the last. But Green getting pulled into a back-and-forth showed that anyone targeting him online should expect a response.
