Spire Motorsports’ Carson Hocevar has been making a name for himself in NASCAR as one of the boldest voices in the garage with his comments on and off the track. The most recent drama involving the youngster was his rant on social media about drop in the sports broadcasting standard and how the lack of entertaining races is affecting the fandom, putting NASCAR on a ventilator.

Ex-racer Kenny Wallace shared his thoughts on the rant in the most recent episode of the Herm & Schrader podcast. He admitted that the days of having 250K fans on the grandstands no longer viable for the sport but that doesn’t mean NASCAR is in dire situation. It is still giving the racing fans premier entertainment and is culturally significant in the states.

Yeah, you and I are both on the same page. The days of 250,000 people in the grandstands, it’s kinda like the Ed Sullivan show. Those days are over, but we’re still rockin’. And that’s kinda my opinion.

Kenny Wallace said on the Herm & Schrader podcast.

The co-host of Kenny Wallace’s podcast, veteran Ken Schrader also shared his thoughts on the situation earlier. He admitted that the times have changed as well as the fans, but NASCAR is still making significant investments and is getting solid TV ratings.

You know, it’s like the 94 Brickyard. Times are different. They’re trying, trying, trying to bring things back. And we see that with attendance and TV numbers, things are better.

Ken Schrader asserted.

Later in the same conversation, Schrader appreciated the overall positive value Carson Hocevar brings into the sport. He believes the youngster has the potential to earns millions and be the superstar of the sport. The legendary figure then turned the same appreciation into criticism highlighting how it is not right saying NASCAR is on life support considering the future ahead.

I’m a Carson Hocevar fan. I think he does a good job. And if I was his age, had the future that he has lookin’ in front of him, where if he keeps runnin’ like he is, it’s gonna make millions and millions and millions of dollars, first thing I’d do is. Tell everybody at NASCAR’s our life support.

Ken Schrader added.

Carson Hocevar got a perfect idea for a Days of Thunder 2 cameo

Recently it was announced that a sequel to Tom Cruise’s iconic NASCAR movie Days of Thunder is on the work and it’s going do the sport a world of good. Hocevar wants to be part of the movie and got the perfect idea for a cameo. He wants to the character that that wrecks Cole Trickle, one of the prominent figures in the first movie.

I mean, it would be cool. I’d like to wreck Cole Trickle at some point in the cameo, if I can get a cameo. Maybe that’ll get written in there at some point, so it’s a little realistic.

Carson Hocevar said.

The Spire Motorsports drivers feel it would be a realistic thing that could happen, considering the movie character is someone he can resonate with. Trickle is known for winning on superspeedways and being an aggressive racer causing wrecks like Hocevar. It would be ironic if this idea makes it into the final script.
