LaMelo Ball is a very talented and skilled point guard. He was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets as the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. The early signs were promising, and the Hornets believed that Ball could be the face of the franchise and lead the team in the coming years.

However, his off-court decisions and personality have come under scrutiny several times in the last few years. His career stagnated a bit, and he has never led the Hornets to the playoffs in his six seasons with them.

Early this year, he was involved in a car accident. His custom-made Hummer collided with another vehicle, causing significant damage. Fortunately, he made it out without any serious injuries.

However, since the accident, Ball made a big change off the court. His older brother, Lonzo Ball, revealed that LaMelo hired a personal driver as he needed to take things a little easy.

He’ll buy a million-dollar car and then just immediately f*** it up. He actually doesn’t get in accidents, but he has a lot of situations on the road. Well, he did get into an accident recently. Yeah, he do need to chill out. He got a driver now, though.

The youngest of the Ball brothers was left unscathed after the accident. The first visuals of the accident left many worried but LaMelo made it out safely. He was back for the Hornets a day later and thanked god that he was alive and well.

However, LaMelo is starting a new chapter after getting traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer. After Lonzo Ball revealed that he hired a new chauffeur, it looks like he is already taking some important steps in the right direction, as he is on a team with championship aspirations.

Fans react to LaMelo Ball hiring a driver after Charlotte road chaos

LaMelo Ball’s off-the-court lifestyle was often seen as colorful by many. However, the accident he suffered in February this year must have given him a reality check. As Lonzo said, he needs to take a step back and chill a bit, as he has his whole career ahead of him.

After the news of LaMelo hiring a driver went viral, fans took to social media to react.

Fans roasted LaMelo after he employed a new chauffeur. Many joked that the roads will now be safer and drivers in Minnesota will be happy with the news, while some applauded him for being more mature with his decision.

Lonzo Ball on LaMelo Ball having small guard skills

LaMelo Ball is entering an important phase in his NBA career. He has failed to take the Hornets to the playoffs during his time in Charlotte. But for the first time in his career, LaMelo will be playing on a team with big goals and All-Star caliber teammates.

During the podcast, Lonzo spoke about his youngest brother’s skills and growth.

Even though Melo’s small, his skill level was much higher than a lot of people in high school. My pops, he was deada** playing — Melo’s probably nine years old and he’s playing with seniors in high school. His skill is built for a little guard, that’s why he does all that herky-jerky s*.

LaMelo is listed at 6’7″, but his movement and skills are comparable to a small guard. The 25-year-old faced competition at a very young age. He skipped college basketball to play professional basketball overseas. He has proven to be a better player than his two older brothers, and now he will be looking to help the Wolves win their first-ever championship.
