Since leaving Team Penske Racing and becoming the co-owner RFK Racing, the 2012 Cup champion Brad Keselowski has one goal, make his side a tier one side again. The team has a long-way to go in order to secure a place alongside Hendrick Motorsports, Team Penske Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, the elite-3 of stock car racing.
It is not going to be an easy battle, as many before them has failed despite investing millions. Their fellow rivals such as Trackhouse, 23XI Racing and Spire are spending significant funds to get to that point. The Ford veteran asserted that they are the top tier two team of 2026 capable of doing more, despite winning just one race this year and is greedy to move up the priority ladder.
If you look at the Cup Series with three tiers of competitors – arguably four, everyone wants to be at the top of Tier 1. We’re no exception, so we’re not happy to be at the top of Tier 2, but I think an honest assessment is that’s where we’re at. We’re perennially a threat to put one or two cars in The [Chase] and potentially a threat to win anywhere from one to three races (one points-paying win this season) a year. That’s what Tier 2 teams are, but we want to be Tier 1.
Brad Keselowski said.
Further talking about the point, Brad Keselowski highlighted how the big-3 easily put all of their cars in the fight for wins as well as in chase, winning around 3-10 races a season. He wants his team to build cars with similar pace and a business model that yields superior revenue, allowing them to grow further.
They put all their cars in The Chase, and they have the ability or opportunity to win probably somewhere between three to 10 races a year. So that’s where I want us to be as an organization. Speed. We just need to be faster. We need to have a richer revenue model that allows us to invest in the engineering decision to do this at a higher level.

Brad Keselowski’s driver Ryan Preece is coming into the Chase with momentum on his side
The one-win RFK secured this season so far came last Saturday at Daytona. Ryan Preece produced an impressive run to win the event and lock in the 16th spot in the chase, joining his teammate Chris Buscher, while boss Keselowski missed out. He believes the momentum is on his side now and will help him

I’m happy I have my voice back, well, kind of anyways. I definitely felt like I made it a heck of a week, but it’s business as usual. It’s nice to know the final 10 weeks we’re racing for something. We’ll try to go on a run. We definitely have momentum on our side.
Ryan Preece said.
The No:6 Ford driver also talked about his teammate ahead of the Darlington race and pointed out that the win was big for the team, reducing a ton of stress they were in since the start of the season. He is expecting Preece to secure more points by racing calm now that he no longer needs to take unnecessary risks.
I think getting that kind of first point win is a check mark and great for him. It’s great for the team, the organization as a whole. If anything, I think it puts them in a less stressful position, not a more stressful position, to just go out and run his own races. The points will be what they’ll be. He doesn’t need to throw Hail Marys to prove his worth in this sport.
Brad Keselowski asserted.
The comments from the veteran driver are on point and shows how the momentum is going to benefit his team going into the chase. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout RFK in 2026 and the coming years.
