The Los Angeles Dodgers booked their 3rd straight National League Championship Series (NLCS) berth following a 3-1 triumph against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series (NLDS). Following their triumph, an MLB Hall of Famer sent a blunt warning to their opponents.
The two-time defending champions took a major step towards a historic three-peat by eliminating the Braves in 4 games. After winning Game 1, the Braves did fight back and won Game 2.
In Game 3, Kike Hernandez and Freddie Freeman went yard against Chris Sale. The two home runs in the 4th inning were enough for the Dodgers to win 3-1.
With a 2-1 division series lead, the Dodgers had Tyler Glasnow on the mound. The right-handed pitcher worked 4.2 innings and issued 5 walks. However, he gave up just one run.
As for the offense, Max Muncy got the team on the board as Mauricio Dubon dropped a routine fly ball in the 2nd inning. Andy Pages hit a bases-loaded single, which scored 2 runs and put his team up 3-1 in the 7th inning.
A solo home run from Muncy in the 9th inning extended the lead to 4-1. The Braves had no answer to this and lost the game, suffering an NLDS exit.

During the postgame show, Hall of Famer John Smoltz sent a warning to the Dodgers’ opponents. The former Braves star claimed that the teams will have to out-pitch the NL West side if they want to win against them.
If you’re going to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, you’re going to have to outpitch them. … They have put a roster together, trying to go after the third championship in a row. It’s their pitching that dominated this series.

The LA-based side does have a formidable starting pitching rotation. The acquisition of Tarik Skubal before the trade deadline has been a huge boost.
The 2-time Cy Young Award winner started Game 1 of the NLDS. Blake Snell then started Game 2 while Yoshinobu Yamamoto took the mound in Game 3. Glansnow was thus the starting pitcher in Game 4.
Later on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Brewers took down the San Diego Padres 3-1 in Game 4. This win means there will be a rematch in the NLCS as the two top teams in the NL battle for a berth in the World Series.

Last year, the Dave Roberts-led side swept the Brewers 4-0 in the NLCS. The NL Central will be hoping to avenge that crushing loss this year.
Alex Rodriguez calls Dodgers a “dynasty” after 3rd straight NLCS berth
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ quest for a historic 3-peat is going strong. They took down the NL East champions Atlanta Braves 4-1 in Game 4 and booked a 3rd straight NLCS berth. While discussing this, Alex Rodriguez called them a “dynasty.”

In the post-game show on Fox Sports MLB, A-Rod spoke about the pitching. The starters Skubal, Snell, Yamamoto, and Glasnow all gave up just 1 run in their starts.
It’s a definition of a dynasty. … This is not even the best version of the Dodgers. … (Shohei) Ohtani’s banged up a little bit, did a terrific job of posting every day, and there’s a lot more there. But when you have this type of pitching, you don’t need that much offense. 2 or 3 runs will get it done.

The Dodgers are looking to become just the 3rd franchise after the New York Yankees and the Athletics to win 3 straight World Series titles. The Yankees have done this 3 times in their franchise history, while the A’s did from 1972 to 1974.
As for the American League Championship Series (ALCS), the Tampa Bay Rays booked their place in this with a 4-3 win over the Yankees in Game 3. Following this sweep, they will now face either the Chicago White Sox or the Cleveland Guardians in the upcoming best-of-seven series.
