On Sunday, Trevor Megill did not hold back. Ahead of Game 3 of the World Series at Tropicana Field on Monday, the Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher dropped an NSFW reaction towards the roof design of Tampa Bay Rays’ home stadium.

The Brewers arrived for a practice session in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday following a massive win in Game 2. After going down 0-4, the National League Champions turned things around and won 5-4 to take a 2-0 series lead.

During the practice on Sunday, the Brewers tried out a fly ball and ricochet drills under the closed roof of Tropicana Field. The problem was that it was hard for players to find the ball due to the white color of the roof.

Megill, who was walking past the reporters present at the Trop, did not hold back. He proceeded to drop an NSFW reaction to the roof’s white color and called out those who designed it in the first place.

Whoever decided to make the roof the same g*ddamn color as the baseball is a f****** idiot.

Trevor Megill said as per Dario Melendez

The roof at Tropicana Field has faced criticism in the past as well. The stadium has also undergone some changes following the damage caused by Hurricane Milton in 2024.

Interestingly, the Brewers’ own stadium has faced backlash this postseason. Like Tropicana Field, American Family Field also has a rooftop. For Games 1 and 2 of the World Series, the roof was kept closed.

In Game 1 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) against the San Diego Padres, Megill was pitching in the top of the 9th inning. The Padres were 3-2 down and hoping for a big hit from one of their stars.

With a runner on base, Ty France appeared to have hit a go-ahead home run. However, the ball hit the cable on the roof of the ballpark in deep left-center field.

It then fell into the glove of Jackson Chourio for the second out of the inning. Had the roof been open, the ball might have cleared the fence and given the Padres a 4-2 lead. Things could have turned out differently for them.

In the end, the Brewers won 3-2 and took a 1-0 series lead. They then won Game 2 with a walk-off hit from Chourio and finished off the NL West side in Game 4.

Brewers are hoping to finish off the Rays in Florida

The Milwaukee Brewers took another major step towards their first title with a comeback 5-4 win in Game 2. With the team now up 2-0 in the best-of-seven series, they are hoping to finish off the Tampa Bay Rays in Florida.

In MLB history, teams that have taken a 2-0 series lead in the best-of-seven postseason series (LCS and World Series) have won 79 out of 95 times. Only 16 times have teams managed to come back from 0-2 down and win the series.

Of those 16 times, 10 happened in the World Series. However, the last time this happened was 3 decades ago.

The New York Yankees fell 0-2 down against the defending champions, the Atlanta Braves, in the 1996 World Series. The Bronx Bombers then won 4 straight games to stun them and clinched their 23rd title.

So for the Rays, it is a huge mountain to climb. With the series now shifting to Florida, the Brewers could finish off their opponents and celebrate on enemy turf.

The preparations seem to have begun. As per reports from USA Today’s Bob Nightengale, the Brewers sent 5 planes to Tampa Bay. This included not only the players and their families but also their entire front office staff and scouting and development departments.

For Game 3, the Brewers will have Robert Gasser on the mound as their starting pitcher. For the Rays, it will be Freddy Peralta taking on his former side. The game is scheduled for 8:08 p.m. ET on Monday.
