Stefanos Tsitsipas has been one of the most successful player this season. He reached the semifinal of the Australian Open and won the most clay court matches on the ATP tour this year. He won his maiden masters title at Monte Carlo and reached the final of the French Open where he was just a set away from beating Novak Djokovic.

He then made it the semifinals of both the Toronto and Cincinnati masters before bowing out of the third round at Flushing Meadows. In Indian Wells this week, he beat Pedro Martinez in the second round before battling past Fabio Fognini in the third round.

As for Alex de Minaur, he had an exceptional start to the season where he won the Antalya Open ahead of the Australian Open. But ever since then, he has shown no form barring the grass court season. He reached the quarterfinal of the Stuttgart Open before reaching the semifinal at Queen’s. He then won the Eastbourne International but bowed out of the opening round at Wimbledon. In the North American swing, he won just one match in 4 tournaments and didn’t win a single match in the next two tournaments he’s played- Moselle Open and Sofia Open.

This week at the Californian desert, he has shown consistency and is yet to drop a set. He defeated Aleksandar Vukic in the second round before getting the better of 13th seed Cristian Garin in the next round.
