“I’m a better version of him,” Belal Muhammad rates his skills higher than Colby Covington, wants to fight him out of ‘pure hatred’

Belal Muhammad and Colby Covington
The number fifth-ranked UFC Welterweight fighter, Belal Muhammad secured the biggest win of his UFC career against the former UFC Welterweight title challenger, Stephen Thompson in his last fight at UFC Vegas.
Muhammad surged into the top five rankings of the Bantamweight division with a win in this fight and he is targeting to face a big name in his next fight. Belal Muhammad always hated the former interim UFC Welterweight champion, Colby Covington and he believes a fight against him can get no better timing than this.
Talking about the same in his latest interview with MMA Fighting, Belal Muhammad says, “That’s one I’ve literally been calling for, for years. Probably like five years, Even before he got into title contention, rankings, any of that. I’ve always wanted that fight. Just because he’s another guy that a lot of guys didn’t want to fight him because of his style.”
“To me, I think my style is better than his. I think I’m a better version of him. I think I have better grappling, better cardio and way better striking than him.” {H/t MMA Fighting}
“I would just like to punch in the face,” Belal Muhammad wants to prove he is the best in the division by defeating Covington

Colby Covington pushed the UFC Welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, to his limit in their rematch at UFC 268, and even the UFC president, Dana White admitted that Covington would have been the champ if Usman wasn’t there in UFC.
This is why Belal Muhammad wants to prove to everyone that he is the best Welterweight fighter in the division and he sees no other way than taking about Colby Covington due to pure hate.
Muhammad says, “He gave Kamaru a lot of problems with that style. I think me fighting him, beating him dominantly, a guy that Dana White says would be the champion if Usman wasn’t here. I think would definitely put me over the top and a guy I would just like to punch in the face. Just out of pure hatred for the guy.” {H/t MMA Fighting}
