The Colombian centre-back Oswaldo Henriquez has cancelled the deal with ISL franchise Kerala Blasters for the upcoming season. The defender was all set to join the club this season but has withdrawn looking at the increase in the effect of the pandemic in India.

The club will have to search for an apt replacement for the defender. Oswaldo has already joined Bnei Sakhnin F.C. The player was keen to join the club but was forced to leave because of the safety issues. He wished to keep himself away from the virus’ impact. Kerala Blasters couldn’t do anything but made a mutual decision with the player only to allow him to leave.

Oswaldo could have been the best defender in line for the Kochi-based franchise

The experienced lad being 31-year old has spent most of his career in the South American leagues and has played for Millionarios in Colombian top division before his move to Brazil.

His career in Brazil began with Sport Recife. In 2018, he went for a change and joined Vasco Da Gama where he played very well in the whole season.
