“Judo’s definitely the hardest”: Ronda Rousey compares her three careers

2022 Women's Royal Rumble match winner

Ronda Rousey has been one of the most dominant women’s in the entire professional wrestling industry. After a hiatus from WWE for a couple of years, “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” returned to professional wrestling at 2022 Royal Rumble. Interestingly this is the third career she has been excelling in!

Rousey had started her career as a judoka. In fact, she was the first American female to win an Olympic medal in judo. She had earned the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. But she soon switched to a career in Mixed Martial Arts. She debuted with King of the Cage in 2011. Rousey was a part of UFC’s inaugural female fight and even the inaugural Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Ronda Rousey even went on to become the first female fighter to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. This career came to a conclusion in 2016. Professional wrestling was the next stop for Rousey. She signed with WWE in 2018 and made her debut at Wrestlemania. Rousey was also part of the historic first-ever Women’s main event match at Wrestlemania.

Rousey’s career proves that she excels in every domain that she steps into. Having competed so many sports – the UFC Hall of Famer is bound to have some strong opinions about all of them. In a recent Facebook live stream, Ronda Rousey opened about which career was the hardest for her.

Judo’s definitely the hardest on my joints than MMA or pro wrestling. I was about ready to retire from Judo just because of how bad it was on my knees when I was like in my early 20s,” mentioned Rousey.

The former Raw Women’s Champion returned to WWE at Royal Rumble. She was the 28th entrant into the match. Rousey sent Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair over the top rope to win the match! This was also the beginning of one of the biggest rivalries of the year.

Ronda Rousey officially announced that she will be going after Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s title in the main event Wrestlelamania 38. Before the collide at the Showcase of Immortals, the two Superstars came face to face at Elimination Chamber. It was a Tag team bout where Rousey and Naomi picked up a win over Sonya Deville and Charlotte Flair.
