“Rajasthan Royals’ jerseys are all about edibles” – Fans react to new jersey

Rajasthan Royals have announced the design of their new jersey for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. The major announcement was made via the official social media accounts of the franchise on Tuesday, March 15. While the first-season champions have maintained their pink and blue colours, they have changed their jersey design significantly. There are horizontal stripes on the jersey made up of several shades of pink.
Additionally, the collars and sleeves of the jersey are dark blues in colour, and the Happilo logo is placed in the middle of the jersey, which is the title sponsor of the franchise. Logos of other sponsors like Dollar, Jio, and Red Bull are also framed in the kit. During this time, the jersey was revealed through an entertaining video, which featured skipper Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and RedBull stuntman Robbie Maddison, who delivered the jersey.
“It was really amazing,” said Royals’ captain Sanju Samson, who signed in for the special delivery. “Robbie’s amazing stunts were something that I’ve seen for the very first time in person, having only watched previously on TV. (Would I ever try this sport?) Maybe I’ll try it out for myself also once I’ve stopped playing cricket (laughs),” he added.
Rajasthan Royals aim to end their curse

Fans shared their opinions about the new design as soon as it was unveiled. Meanwhile, the Jaipur-based team would also like to see a shift in fortunes alongside a change in jersey. The team hasn’t qualified for the final once since winning the title in the inaugural edition in 2008. Their performances in the last few seasons have been nothing short of underwhelming.
However, the franchise representatives did a superb job in the mega auction last month, and they formed a formidable team. While the likes of skipper Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal were retained, the team bought big guns like Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer and Yuzvendra Chahal at the auction event.
While the side looks balanced on the paper, it remains to be seen how they’ll execute their plans on the field. Meanwhile, IPL 2022 is set to get underway on March 26 and cricket fans must have marked their calendars.
