IPL 2020: Shane Warne ‘shocked’ to see Sanju Samson not playing for India

Rajasthan Royals began their Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign with a win against Chennai Super Kings. Sanju Samson was named ‘Man of the Match’ for his innings of 74 runs from 32 balls.
Samson was at his explosive best as he took no time to settle down or see out the spinners. He came all guns blazing and smashed the CSK bowlers around the park. His knock proved to be pivotal for RR as they beat CSK by 16 runs.
Shane Warne ‘shocked’ that Samson isn’t representing India

Shane Warne, who led Rajasthan Royals to the IPL title in 2008, is currently their brand ambassador. He expressed shock at Samson not being picked by the Indian Cricket Team across all three formats.
“Sanju Samson, what a player he is. I have said for a long time and I think Sanju Samson is probably one of the most exciting players I have seen for a long time. I am surprised that he is not playing all forms of cricket for India,” said Warne “He is that good. He is an absolute champion he is got all the shots, quality, and class. So, hopefully, he has a consistent year and helps Rajasthan Royals lift the IPL trophy and I hope to see him in Indian colours in all three forms of cricket” Warne added.
The 25-year-old Samson who made his IPL debut in 2013 was picked by the Indian national side in 2015. But he went on to play only four matches before being dropped due to his poor form. If Samson can continue in similar vein to his innings against CSK, a national call-up won’t be far away.
Samson will be in action today when Rajasthan Royals face Kings XI Punjab at Sharjah. He will be raring to continue his good form and six-hitting spree.
