Coco Gauff throwing the pitch
World No. 11 Coco Gauff is back in front of the home fans as the Tour shifts its entire focus to the USA for the upcoming 2022 US Open that begins in almost a month’s time on 29th August 2022. With the US Open Leg series set to begin next week, Gauff will be playing at the Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose.
While the American still has a couple of days’ time to return to the old grind, she recently attended the Major League Baseball game between the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs in Giants’ home stadium at the Oracle Park. Not only did Gauff attend the game, but she was also honoured to throw the first pitch before the match began which was eventually won by the Cubs 4-2.
“Glad I didn’t flop it”: Coco Gauff

Gauff later took to her official Twitter handle to thank the Giants for allowing the opportunity to make the throw. She posted a video of her throw and wrote, “Thanks for letting me throw the first pitch at the @SFGiants !!! Glad I didn’t flop it lol,” hinting that many celebrities have thrown a poor pitch and get laughed around.
Gauff will now head to San Jose University for the Silicon Valley Classic where she is the 6th seed and will be looking for her 3rd career title and her first for the season as she lost in the finals of the 2022 French Open where she made her debut in a Grand Slam finals. With 500 points up for grab next week, Gauff can break into the Top-10 once again.
