Paddy Pimblett is on a roll – when not posting vlogs of him devouring countless delicacies in the United States, he can be seen dispatching of his opponents within the cage, with ease.

Since his arrival to the UFC, Pimblett has become a true sensation – that is, it is fair to assume that most of the UFC London tickets sold were to those people who wanted to see this new viral phenom do his thing during the walkout and also within the octagon. So, it comes as no surprise as to who he thinks will deliver the biggest-selling PPV, against him.

The name on “The Baddy’s” mouth was, and there are no prizes for this guess – Conor McGregor. The Irishman is the biggest star in the UFC’s history, and also in MMA’s history. Additionally, he is the only MMA fighter to have transitioned to boxing (if, only for a single fight) and sold upwards of 4 million PPV buys. If that wasn’t enough, then add to the fact that the boxing match was the second highest selling PPV of all time!

Speaking about the potential match-up, Pimblett said, “It would be the biggest pay-per-view that the UFC has ever seen, like put it that way, goes without saying.” The most successful UFC PPV also belongs to McGregor, and UFC goat contender Khabib Nurmagomedov, which sold around 2.4 million PPVs. Interestingly, four of the top five highest-grossing UFC PPVs belong to Conor McGregor.

It would be an understatement to say that most, if not all fighters at 155 and 170 pounds would foam at the mouth to have a shot at the Irishman, and make a big pay cheque out of it. If not anything else, the fight could propel these fighters to the level of stardom.

Hence, most fighters are also allowing of a little wiggle room for the Irishman to accept the fight. Speaking about it, Pimblett said, “I think when Conor comes back, he’ll be fighting at 170 [pounds]. He’ll struggle to make 155 now to be honest. He’s looking big… Yeah, get that paper.” He continued, “ No brainer, you know what I mean? Anybody that says no to fight Conor is an idiot, simple as that.”

However, before jumping to conclusions, it is vital to remind oneself, that while McGregor is an established star in the UFC, Pimblett still needs to prove his credentials within the octagon. Defeating Jared Gordon at UFC 282 next weekend will be a step in the right direction for the Scouser.
