Just like clockwork, the question about Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers‘ retirement has been the talk of the postseason. Despite a below than average season, the Packers had the golden opportunity to make it to the playoffs by defeating the Detroit Lions. But that was a really herculean task for Rodgers and Co. and they lost it big time.
Now, the entire league is wondering whether this is it for Aaron Rodgers. Is it finally over for the 39-year-old quarterback? And just like always, Rodgers is continuing to give vague answers.
While fans are squabbling with each other on Rodgers’ retirement, Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe believes it is all a trick by Rodgers to shift the focus from his mundane performance after hearing about reports that Aaron Rodgers had a meeting with Green Bay’s front office.

Aaron Rodgers fails to deliver a winning season

In a talk with Skip Bayless on Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe expressed his frustration with Aaron Rodgers and how the quarterback has been playing the same tune for the past three years and still not retiring. “This is what Aaron does every year to keep you from talking about the stinker he lays the last game,” Shannon said.
“No let’s talk about that stinker he had against the Lions. Let’s talk about that stinker he had the year before against Jimmy G and the 49ers. Let’s talk about the stinker the year before that he has against Tampa Bay,” Shannon added. “But because he does this, people are talking about ‘man I wonder if Aaron is coming back.'”
Despite having 13 wins and being the NFC North champs from 2019-2021, Aaron Rodgers hasn’t been able to lead the Packers to the Super Bowl. Each year he clinches the NFC No. 1 seed and goes on to lose in either the conference championship or the divisional playoffs. This has been a pattern for the veteran quarterback. His performance against the 49ers last year caught everybody’s attention as the Green Bay offense couldn’t score a touchdown in the entire game.
Aaron Rodgers’ performance against the Lions this year didn’t resemble that of a quarterback that won back-to-back NFL MVPs. Rodgers completed only 17 of his 27 passing attempts throwing for 205 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Shannon Sharpe went on to recap the other terrible performances and reiterated that Rodgers has been diverting everyone’s attention from these games by talking about his retirement.
“I don’t give a damn. He stunk and he stunk again. All I care about is the last time I saw Aaron Rodgers in the Packers uniform, he stunk,” Shanon added.
